There is the guy at work who is always making jokes about my name. He gave me this stupid nick name. The first time he called me it. I told him that's not my name and that I wont respond it. he begin to call me by my actual name when its just me and him. When we get around co-workers and he wants a cheap laugh he calls me that stupid nick name. He also tries to give me orders while at work and he isn't my boss. I honestly hold my tongue because I don't want to sound like a female and yell at him or anything but I can't help but feel like I'm betraying myself ?
What's the alpha way to handle disrespect from anyone ?

The "alpha" way to respond is to not have time to deal with petty bullshit.

Seriously....laugh at the guy. If he's got so much time to make fun of you, he's not very "alpha" is he? Consider the source. It shouldn't be hard for you to put a guy like that in his place. Letting him rattle you is letting him "out alpha" you.

The "alpha" way to handle shit like this is to not be disrespected in the first place.

The reason he's giving you shit is because he knows he can. And the reason the beta wolf doesn't challenge the pack leader is because he knows he'll be torn to shreds.

See, if you stood up for yourself initially and give it back to him, he would think twice about calling it to you again.

But as soon as you let you shit slide a few times, you're stuck with it till one day, it escalates and you've bottled up a lot of anger till you blow up and throw a chair at his face.

Stand up for yourself, especially at the beginning. Let them know that you're defiant.

What's the best way to stand up for myself ?I honestly thought I did by not responding to the name or even giving him a reaction.

Well since it's at work a fistfight is out of order.

Tell him your sick of his dis respectfull bs and that you want him to stop calling you something else.
Let him know that you really don't appreciate it and that you'll tell the boss if he doesn't stop

What's the nickname in relation to and what's the nature of your job?

Without your fear, he is nothing.

I know that this is much easier said than done, but you cannot give him the reaction that he wants. Ever.

As Dragula points out Stand up for Yourself!

Assholes never expect to be called out on their behavior, so do it.

If you’re not going to stand up for yourself, then who will? We can't come by and kick ass for you.

What are you afraid of? Physical altercations? Harsh words? Likely neither will happen.

Try to call him out when you’re not emotionally charged by the situation.

Example; "Are you really, seriously trying to intimidate me in front of people?"

A guy I used to work with had this exact same problem and it went on for months then all of a sudden it just stopped and none of the two ever spoke about it or why it had ended. They were never friends afterwards but it always puzzled me about what happened. Some of the guys said they reckoned it had come to blows outside and settled but I was never sure as the guy who was being bullied was a total nerd.

Ten years later I bumped into him in a pub in Newcastle, had a few drinks together and I had to say: "so what happened between you and ......"

"Oh" he replied "I looked up where he lived and told him I would spray 'Paedophile' on his house if he didn't back down".

The best way would be to laugh it off. The more you get serious the more he's likely to tease. Some people have a habit when they see the emotional reaction they get motivated instead. Plus it's a workplace so it will avoid any awkwardness in future.

Ps: You shouldn't be that serious in life. Be playful and take things lightly.

Pps: I've been called multiple times a "fag, gay fan boy of Style, dick sprout" etc. If I were you I would've probably left the Earth by now. :P
