Hey guys. I need help, quick! I reconnected with a girl I worked with about a year ago. She is a solid 9. At the time, she was married and I was getting married. Needless to say, both of our marriages failed. We always had an unbelievable connection, but we couldn't really act on it. I decided to text her yesterday and she said she was going through a divorce. I told her I was too, and then I ask her if she wanted to get together soon to have a few drinks and catch up. She said she'd love to and ask me when I was free. I told her I was off tomorrow(today) night. I really, really don't want to screw this up! I'm new to pick up, so my skills are lacking to say the least. I need some general advice on how to make this a good catch up "date" and how to not get thrown in the friend zone. Give me all you got(and do it quickly please) |

This - right there - will be the death of you. You've placed too much importance on her from the start. She's better than anyone else and you don't want to mess it up..... What's that going to do? Make you more cautious? Make you behave differently? Make you not take risks cause you'll screw it up?All of the above. Calm your tits. It's just drinks and catching up. Maybe she's 300 pounds now... or her breath stinks... Or she's got a giant cold sore on her lip... Who knows? Go into it as if you're just catching up with a friend and be yourself, man. Try to sit beside her or at least kiddie-corner to her so that you can make physical contact. Google the Vin Di Carlo escalation ladder... and escalate calmly and casually and naturally while you're with her... If she accepts and reciprocates your escalation advances, you're golden. If not, then have a great time anyway, catch up and have a few beers. |

You're exactly right. Part of the attraction from the beginning was that I never hit on her like all the other guys did. I was always just myself and she loved it. I will Google the escalation ladder before I go. I'm just going to be the same guy that she really liked(I think) a year ago and that should be good enough. Any other help is greatly appreciated though! Also, should I offer to go pick her up from her house or have her meet me there? Should I see if she wants to go get some food first? |
