Ran into a friend of my ex wife, it has been almost 20 years since I left her. She came home one night at 5:30am with her shirt half out and I told her I was leaving her that next day and really have had little contact with her or her friends since. So I ran into a friend of hers (mutual acquaintance) recently and then suddenly see a friend request from her. I didn't speak about my ex, but there was a few pics on facebook we were both tagged on. Now all of a sudden I get a friend request the next week. If there isn't a lesson in here for other guys about you being the shit, I don't know what is. Keep yourself in shape and feel good about yourself no matter what life throws at you! |

So if I remain the shit and stay in shape, my ex girlfriends will friend request me on Facebook in 20 years? Thats the lesson. |

You did the right thing breaking up if she was not behaving, living like a wild college student while you were married. After 20 years she got over you, you got over her, you both moved on with your lives. She added you on facebook. I don't see the correlation between all the above and about you being the shit.Quote: Keep yourself in shape and feel good about yourself no matter what life throws at you!

Perhaps you need to be my age to appreciate the situation. |

Let's neglect the moral age high ground... Am I the only person that translated this thread completely differently... To me, it just seems that you're not over this woman who probably has a family of her own by now and just so happens to spot you on facebook through a mutual friend and sent you casual a friend request for old time sake In her head it is conveying 'Oh, there is my ex, iIt's been a while. *Send friend request* in your head is 'HAHHA the fucking bitch, crawling back to me' I highly doubt she is on a forum thinking of ways to get her ex husband back. It''s obvious you're still hurt over this. It doesn't seem like she is...You have won no battle. Quite the opposite. |

Sounds like you've been holding onto some pain for twenty years and your ex making you a fb friend has given you some validation. She should have thought you were the shit when she married you. Do you really believe that a few pictures of a guy that she doesn't really know anymore has her thinking that he's any more valuable now?The real lesson here is that when you move on, you have to let go and not look back. EDIT: Damn you Dragula |

Thanks for the beat down everyone. Really wasn't looking back, was more just surprised, as most married women don't friend ex husbands, but whatever. |

It was not an age thing, more a perspective thing.
