Post subject:  Anything that works on waitresses?

I just got back from wing night with two couples. I didn't go out with the intention of doing anything other than having some wings, catching up with an old friend but the waitress came over and she was cute. I knew this really wouldn't count as "In Field" work and I used it as an opportunity to just get flirty, shake off the rust (I haven't really flirted since my relationship ended) and I tried to remember some of the lines in the routine in "The Game" that one of the guys uses on waitresses.

Is there any way to try to get a number smoothly? I didn't really get much for IOI's, I don't think, and it was her first day, her family was there, so it was awkward so I didn't ask for any number but I'll disclose the interaction as best I can.

She asks what we want blah blah. There was only one menu on the table.
Me: I haven't actually even seen the menu. What do you recommend?
Her: Well, it's wing night. 50 cents a wing.
Me: I'm going to test your memory. What wing sauces do you have?
Her: Oh man, it's my first day actually.. umm..
Me: I'll make it easy on you, only because its your first day.. 20 Mild Wings.

Takes my order. Usual bull-shit, orders were fucked up when she got back to the table. I'm trying to get eye contact with her whenever I can, not really working, I mean she's working tables and its her first day. I'm just trying to keep myself in a frame when I'm speaking to her that I'm charming, playful but I also want to take her away from here later and do nasty things to her. Don't think I kept it consistent though, will work on this.

She returns later.
Me: You again?! You must really love us. (Part of The Game line, I think)
You: Oh yeah, you guys are the best. (she says sarcastically)
Me: That sounded sarcastic. I'm truly hurt. (I think this was a pretty AFC comment from me.. should have came up with something better).
She laughs and goes away to fetch something for the rest of the table. Comes back later for bills.

Me: So, did we make you want to quit? (working the machine)
Her: Oh yeah, this is my first and my last day!
Me: Perfect, perfect. Mission accomplished.
Her: Yeah, thanks for that..
Me: That's your family over there, isn't it? Or do you just eat fries off customers tables on your first day?
Her: Yeah, that's my family. They are here a lot.
Me: That's how you got your in, huh?
Her: Yeah, I just got home. I was in London for school the past two years.
Me: And you came back? What were you taking?
Her: Environmental studies. Did two years at SMU, two years in London and thinking about coming back to SMU.
Me: I'm a SMU alumni, myself. You should finish, it's not a bad school.
Her: It reminded me of high school a little bit to be honest.
Me: I've got to defend Robie Street High! It's not all bad. (A little too AFC here, I let her perception of the place ruin what I had initially said).
Her: Haha, yeah.. (My friend who also from SMU says something to her.. at this point my bill is paid for)
Me: So when Global Warming is solved, I can thank you, the girl without a name-tag at this pub!
Her: Yup! Well, my name is supposed to be on these bills but that's not my name.
Me: Not even same first letter?
Her: Nope.
Me: Is it at least close?
Her: No, they're supposed to be fixing it for me.

I left it there. She didn't actually offer up her name to me. So there was no indication of interest there. It's her first day. It was my first flirtatious endeavour in awhile. Has anyone been able to actually smoothly ask for a waitresses number in one evening or is it one of those things you have to regularly come around? Direct game at the end? "Hey, to be honest, I think you're cute and you kept up with my sarcastic comments. Give me your number and we can hang out another time."

Not sure. But at least I flirted, a bit, and broke that first initial barrier for me. Shook off some rust, but there's a lot more where that comes from.
