| Post subject: | Text critique - how to continue from here? |
Hi all, Opened this girl in the supermarket on Thursday after work. I opened her by asking which is the healthiest fish to eat etc (by the fish section). I rambled on and managed to engage her in full conversation for 5-10 minutes. After talking about food and teasing her about she cooks, we then talked a bit about where we're from and our jobs etc. She is actually a Chinese intern working here in London. I finished the interaction saying we should grab a coffee sometime and got her number. The store was nearly closing but I could see she was in no hurry to leave and very happy to continue talking. The day after I text her and the interaction goes as follows: Me: Hey! Nice meeting u yesterday, this is MyName. This is the cooking expert HerName right :p Her: It's HerName actually haha (her name spelt slightly differently) Me: Ha I was close! How's ur day going Her: Just busy as normal Me: Yeah same here. In that case we should have a relaxing drink sometime Her: cool:) Me: Cool when works for a drink? U can be my cooking teacher :p (I had been asking her how she cooks during our conversation) She didn't reply to that last text of mine. I haven't actively worked on my text game in a while and, as a result, it has suffered. Please feel free to criticize my messages as much as you like? Also, how would you now reignite the situation? |

It was fine.. The last comment was just not necessary. You have to learn how to let those jokes of the moment go after the moment. Its cool as a conversation starter but then let it go. Take her some place else. how long has it been since she hasn't responded? |

Seems fine to me. Now it is the waiting game. If she doesn't get back to you, you know not waste anymore time. |

You opened fine. That's the good. Asking how her day was isn't the most exciting text in the world. She probably has 10 dudes in her phone that ask the same thing on a daily basis. So you don't stand out at all. You spark no emotion. Then you kinda half-assed asking her out. You didn't suggest a time nor a place, and even more so you passed the lead to her entirely. After that you completely killed that inside joke with the last comment. So that's the bad. Read my guide if you feel like improving your text game or if you want a more elaborate perspective. It's linked in the signature. |

Thanks, yeah in hindsight that last comment by me was pretty poor. That was on Friday when those messages took place. Then yesterday (Sunday) I sent her a simple "Hey u, staying out of trouble lately?" to which she hasn't responded either.how long has it been since she hasn't responded? Looks like this ship has sailed but I will still send her another message say in a week's time just for the hell of it, nothing to lose. Thankfully, I don't have a problem getting numbers, my problem is converting numbers into dates! |
