I was facebook messaging a woman I work with and see everyday about her starting her own website. She messaged me asking for help so I responded. This woman is 20 years my senior and I have no attraction for her what so ever, plus she is married. Anyway she is clearly not typing words correctly which is odd because she is very smart. So I ask her whats up and she says she has been drinking for a while. Then types the following Her "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" Me "About what? Your husband not waving at me today?" Saw him earlier Her "SO So sorry" Me "Your seriously scaring me" Her "Did you not know?" At this point I'm slightly aware to where this might lead so I try to make a joke ME" Know what Santa isn't real?" Her "That I have feeling for you." Me "Listen I think you have had a bit to much and need to get some sleep, check out the websites I told you about and maybe you can successfully grow your business." At this point I log off because I don't know what else to say. My question is this, WTF do I do tomorrow when I go to work. I literally have to spend half the day with her which I'm guessing will be akward as shit. Do I bring this previous converation up and give it life? or ignore it and let it die? |

Santa Claus isn't real!!? I'd ignore it until you get a feel for how things are going to go. She's probably more embarrassed about it than you are uncomfortable with it. Of course I'm assuming she's going to go the "backtrack and apologize" route instead of pushing forward... If she wants to talk about it - and you need to keep a functional professional relationship with the woman - you may want to play it off like it was nothing and you've done something similar in the past after drinking too much in a "don't worry about it" kind of way. "Could happen to anyone" - then ask about her website or something. I dunno man, best I got... |

Santa isn't real? hahah you're an idiot. But really tho, I'd probably be chill about it. People do stupid shit when they drink. And she's your co-worker, it really doesn't have to be awkward. |

All good, I cleared it up by just making a nonchalant joke about her drinking, which she brought up. After that it was business as usual. Was just taken aback with her being really up front over facebook chat especially since she is married, seemly happily since she is always posting about being married to her best friend and shit like that. |

Happy people don't feel the need to let everyone else know how happy they are. Her marriage is quite obviously shit. |

Your not attracted to her and she's married (even if it's a shitty marriage). You can let it slide and be chill about it and she's the one who brought up that awkward opening in the first place, she should be the one who must feel awkward in the of the day. |
