| Post subject: | What if a girl asks if you ever had a girlfriend? |
I knew her for a few months at work. She asks if I have a girlfriend, I say "not yet". Then she asks if I ever had one. I just say "yeah" and lightly ask her "why you asking all these questions?", because I was curious. (she didn't give me an answer) Is it a test or does she think it's clear that I haven't had much success? I'm asking because I would like to understand. I'm not actually interested in her romantically but I would find it beneficial to understand these females more. |

If she asks you if you've ever had a girlfriend, yeah, that means you give off the vibe of someone who isn't very good with women. |

Or was she asking that to try to get me to open up about the subject? Or does she think I'm interested and wondering why I'm not making a move?Like here, people are saying differerent: http://www.reddit.com/r/AskMen/comments ... _you_have/ I'm not ignoring your opinion and thank you for it, but I would like some more replies I am always nice + friendly to her (I'm the same with everyone) and ask about her and her life because I find it interesting. I ask her if she needs help with work because she looks like she would need it. She asks questions like what I normally get up to in the eveniing and asks for advice with work. I know I don't act like a really confident dude at times because I really am not, but, I may be average, like how I got the courage to talk to her first before we met. |

Versalis is completely correct. She should be thinking "man this guy probably has a bunch of women after him." |

Context is important. That reddit article does sound like she's into him. But it still sounds like she thinks he isn't very good with women. A woman can like a shy guy, but it doesn't mean she doesn't think he's shy. |

It's confusing because your answer to her asking if you had a gf, semantically implied that you never had a gf. "Not yet." If I ask you do you have a car, and you say "not yet" I'll think you never had a car. If you had said "no" it doesnt mean you never had one. You answered her asking whether you had a gf with "not yet" implying never. Maybe she likes you and was interested, maybe she was just asking at work, maybe she was asking because she thinks you're shy or weird in some way. Regardless, you answer kinda muddied the whole thing. |

Yeah, treat it as positive feedback. It does mean you haven't been with many women or aren't good with them. I got that line at the end of my previous relationship when I went completely afc. Now, things have turned and I am back. I get the whole "oh you're probably going to see one of your other girls" to which I smirk and give little kiss. |
