I am new to pick up. And, like many others I would assume, am a bit puzzled as to where to begin - and how to begin? Have been lurking the forums for a while, trying to learn as much as I can, haven't got much else done. Any advice is appreciated thanks |

Trying to learn as much as you can before taking action is a sweet, seductive trap that many people fall into.If it's something you can't apply in real life, don't bother wasting time by just reading it! The BEST place to learn is in the field. It's dangerous to read a bunch of stuff without taking action because it leads to information overload and paralysis. The more OPTIONS you give yourself, the harder it is to choose any one of those options. Head on over to the Field Reports board here and start a journal. Write about what you do when you go out. I believe that's something everyone who is serious about improvement should do. Where to begin? Start anywhere. The important thing is to just start. Maybe you'll start in the "wrong" place, but that's what this forum is for! We can help you course-correct yourself along the way. |

Hey! Chief. I've seen you all over the forum, so i know your advice is good. Appreciate your input. "It's dangerous to read a bunch of stuff without taking action because it leads to information overload and paralysis" This, is some great advice! Thank you. I have been reading too much, and over analyzing everything. I guess the best thing to do is just get in there and see what happens?? I will just pick one method and see how I go. Any suggestions for a good method? My personality I would say is introverted. |

Just start saying "Hi" to five women a day. Make a point to say hi to five women. You don't have to approach them, you don't have to talk to them. Say hi to 5 women a day for a month. And then come back and ask for step two. |

This is definitely a great thing to do. Similar to the Newbie Mission.

If you are an introvert then you will definitely want to check out my Seductive Introvert program. What many methods in pickup (especially the more popular ones) will do is force you to become more extroverted, making you think that being introverted is a bad thing. That's bullshit, though. Introversion offers its own unique advantages and you should harness your strengths instead of diminishing them. After learning and practicing pickup for 10 years, I feel like I wasted a lot of years focusing on methods that told me to become extroverted. I noticed that I was taking a lot longer to get good at this stuff than naturally extroverted dudes and I thought I just sucked. Even though I got good eventually and started teaching pickup, I felt like a fraud sometimes. Why were these other guys able to go clubbing more than 3 times a week? Why do I seem to need to recharge for several days after just one night of clubbing? Why do I get tired after talking to a bunch of people? Is pickup all about socializing like this? Why is it so difficult for me to do this "entourage game" shit? It wasn't until I got good enough to make my own shortcuts did I realize that I developed my own style that was suited for my introverted personality. If introverts go with my style, they can shave years off of their learning curve. |
