Is flipping of the hair always an IOI?

Post subject:  Is flipping of the hair always an IOI?
I know not to put too much emphasis on IOI's, but I noticed that this girl I am friendly with at work, when her hair is down, kind of runs her hand through her hair from the inside out, sort of fanning it a few times when I talk to her.

I've read that this is a subconcious show of her fertility/health as a prospective mate?

hair preening is controlled by the central nervous system. a person can become nervous for many different reasons. Atttraction, shyness, fear, just to name a few. if you really want to know if it's an ioi, you have to look for more than one signal. if it's an ioi, that hair preen will be followed by another ioi. for example, here qualifying you or herself through words. or maybe her touching you in any playful way.

No, it is not. What you should be focusing on is the change in how/how often she plays with her hair.

Why not try talking to her and see whats up? That will probably give you a better idea than watching her play with her hair then posting about in on a forum ;)

As Majic said, go talk to her. It's in only an IOI if she's interested. If gotten crazy IOI's from girls who rejected me as soon a I walked up. And I've gotten girls who weren't giving me IOI's go crazy for me as soon as I walked up. I still can't tell you with a high degree of accuracy if a girl doing X is showing me interest. The only IOI I really consider is once I approach and see whats up.

My 2 cents:

If she is holding good eye contact and smiling and flipping hair, it's on like you wouldn't believe. You should start flirting and teasing and escalating with her because she's super attracted to you.

If she's flipping her hair with a blank look on her face, like no emotions, then she's just bored and looking for something to do.

If you're unsure whether this is an ioi or not, observe her from a distance. If she plays with her hair whilst she's not in your vicinity then it's clearly not an ioi.

If she only starts playing with her hair when your around then you can take it as an ioi

Any time a girl has her hand close to her neck it is a signal that means "I am friendly, I mean no harm". It is triggered subconsciously, and shows you that she doesn't have a weapon in her hand (e.g. a stone). It is anscient and origins from the time when we were animals. A girl can do that either because she is attracted or because she feels nervous (not quite comfortable). Note that I said "close to her neck". It can be anywhere around her face, doing whatever, like fiddeling with the hair, scratching her neck or something else. If she has short hair she can't play with it, right?

In fact, men do this too for the same reasons. But usually we can control our emotions better because that is a part of the role being a man. It is something we learn as we grow up.

And finally, "displacement activities"... These are small activities we do when we get nervous, like fiddeling with a pencil, find it hard to stand still, playing with hair of course, and anything like that.

The difference between nervousness and interest spells eye contact. A nervous person will most likely look away, while an attracted one will look you straight in the eyes.

We were at our christmas party and when i said id be outt next week she said oh il be out the week after, see you im two weeks!

Also during a conversation at the table i was talking facebook and how mine got hacked and sent spam to two ppl we work with. She said "i didnt get anything, but we arent friends.." I said nope only acquaintences, wish i could make that public. She pauses for like two seconds then utters you...are an asshole.." Smiling and looking right at me

She doesnt really flirt with me at all unprovoked, does mention a bf publicly at work (tjen again i mention girls too) and when i was away at a trip i said if she were there she would have seen game in action lol she said she would have encouraged it...meaning me and other girls

Her position is hogher than mine and she is late 20s and im mid 20s
