i'm a 38 years old male. Since i began balding, i started to shave my head instead of letting the remaining hair stay. The first thing i noticed was that the way women perceived me started to change in a bad way. I know age kicks in, a guy starts to get old and facial features change, it's nature and it happens to all of us. But what i really notice is how cruel and unforgiving women are when it comes to men losing their hair... it's like we have some contagious disease or something? does it make us less manly? is a bald guy condemned to being single because he is... well bald? Here's some pics before and after being bald. Horrible.. That's how women describe me now. i'm letting my beard grow because i have a weak chin and jaw. i will have a bilateral saggital split and le fort 1 surgery in a few months to advance my lower jaw and maybe a genioplasty, maybe i will look better then without beard. Anyway looking forward to hear opinions on my question and how you bald and non bald guys cope with the situation. it really hurts your confidence and chances with women imho. I'm bald and have to shave my head at least every other day. It's not an issue. |

I think it's the beard. Ditch the cheek fuzz and just have a goatee. |

In my experience a bic'd head is pretty dope SMS removes the issue of baldness entirely. Must be something else. Perhaps you are being shit tested and you are being rattled? |

Crying like a kid because you're balding makes you less manly |

You made a post several months ago about some fat chick who called you a 2 (out of 10) on physical attractiveness. Now you're here talking about getting facial surgery to be 'more attractive' - whatever the hell that even means. You're refusing to work on yourself, instead you'd sooner change the exterior of the house and hoping by some way of a miracle that will absolve you of doing any of the real work on the inside. I don't want to enable you by looking at your photos and validating that you should get surgery. I get that baldness is a sensitive thing for most males out there, but really you really hold onto the vanity side of things not realizing how you're projecting such insecurities onto the women you meet. If you worked more on your internal 'game', so-to-speak, that is connecting to yourself, learning how to nurture your soul and become a confident guy then my guess is you wouldn't be bother with all this other trivial stuff. |

I've had a receding hairline since senior year in highschool. Held on to what hair I had for another 4 years or so. Then I shaved my head. I can say it was a good decision. I've never, I repeat, never been talked down to from a girl because I'm bald. There are a few younger chicks who want to rub the dome just because they've never done it before, at which point I give them shit about being young and naive. Sometimes say "Ok, ill let you give my head a stroke, but only this time." In a joking manner of course. If you are really getting alot of shit over the baldness it's only because you're so insecure about it. Get over it. Learn to deal with it. |

I think something that needs to be understood is that bald is different for different men. Some guys look good bald. The rounder and more even your head is, the better. When you have a pointy head or a long face(as OP does) it looks pretty bad. For *most* guys, I suggest a full shave over a Norwood 4+. That said, in your particular case... I'm not so sure. Your hair does more than just cover the crown of your head. It shapes your face. When you shave it all off, it can look very bad based on head shape. I agree that the beard needs to go. But what you need to do is go to an image consultant. You may consider getting those hair tattoos. And though I generally suggest lower body fat over higher, in your case, I think you may want to shoot for something around %25(this is body fat percent, as the Army calculates it, not BMI). Your face has gotten narrower with age, and fat will help fill that out. |
