weird thing. every time I start a conversation with a girl, I feel like there is something stuck in my throat and I have to clear my throat. This wouldn't be too embarrassing if it was after 5 minutes. but no, this is like right at the beginning. within 20 seconds, I cant talk, there is something stuck in my throat and my voice breaks and I have to do a quick cough to clear it.

WTF?

sounds like some type of nervous reaction . I think the best way to approach it is to act like its no big deal and not give her the impression that it's phasing you. You could turn it into a joke about bronchitis

Yeah definitely make light of it. I also have to wonder if this is only occurring on the first "set" of the day/night. Theoretically after the first one you'd be in more of a social place mentally and would be able to open the next girls without the frog in the throat.

Another fun thing is to playfully "blame" the girl for a random thing that may happen during the approach like the scenario you're talking about. Once I had stepped in gum right after opening a girl and I was like "what's this, gum...you put it there didn't u" etc. just to make light of the whole situation. her lighthearted reply "no i didn't!!".

You don't really need to make any excuses or blame anyone but yourself.

This is not approach anxiety, it's nervousness. It usually fades away with experience. I used to experience such things when I went to interviews mostly, but not with girls.

If you want my opinion on how I made it go away I'll give it to you: Just think about it, you're interacting with a human being, a civilian just as you are. The other person listening to you doesn't know what you feel inside. He/she does not know that you are nervous, because they can't see INSIDE you. On the other hand, the person you're talking to is most likely experiencing such an issue too but he/she is just good at hiding it and speaking louder. The faster you realize this, the more self-confidence you'll build. Try challenging people on who gets nervous first. Look them in the eye, raise your voice (not in a screaming tone) and adjust your posture. See how it feels now, it feels as if you are in control. Always take the lead and don't be afraid to control people.

I hope this helped.

If it makes you feel any better when I first started approaching women I'd be shaking like a little bitch like I was about to be attacked by a giant bear.

Not sure if it was noticeable... I got over it.

It's fear. You have to conquer it by constantly exposing yourself to what you fear.

I've had experienced the same feeling when I'm matched to spar with a bigger and more mascular opponent in Karate or Taekwondo. The first 10 seconds felt like something was stuck in my throat, my legs and arms felt too heavy, my balls and dick contracted, and I gave off cold sweat profusely.

You can only get rid of such fear by exposing yourself more to what you fear.

The fucking awesome thing is that before you know it, your whole body is charged with all these good natural chemicals when you approach a woman because your brain knows there is nothing to fear - as a matter of fact this is when you're in your element.
