I have a few concerns about the safety of sex and pickup. Hopeful to hear if these are shared in this community, if they're legitimate, and how they're handled? 1. Am I alone in being alarmed by the failure rate of condoms? Condoms of course work 98% of the time, when used properly (of course, many of us fail to use them properly). If someone told you that you could have a fun night, but with a 2% (minimum( chance of it ruining your life and a couple others' (your partner's, the kid's), wouldn't you find a different way to enjoy the night. So yes, I'm basically asking if sex before marriage can be justified by a reasonable risk-benefit analysis? 2. Even kissing (outside a relationship) carries a questionable risk-benefit ratio. If you get mono, you're putting future partners at risk and likely missing a little work etc.. The PUA's don't seem too scared of this when they do their in-field videos. Anyone else very reluctant to kiss a relative stranger? 3. And then there's the community's focus on quick pulls. No one else concerned about letting someone who is more-or-less a stranger into your home and having her there while you're sleeping. ------ I don't mean to be a downer. Just curious, am I simply exaggerating the safety risks? Or is the community foolish for having the goals it has? Are there other safety risks that concern members of the pua community? And whatever these concerns may be, are there techniques used to mitigate them other than the obvious (the obvious might be condoms, pulling out)? Sincere thanks for any responses. |

There's also a risk that a bus could drive into your living room and crush you just sitting at home.... Fuck yeah man. There are alot of risks. I've had some crazy, fucked up shit happen to me over the last few years. Walking outside of your house is a risk. Getting in your car involves risks. Going to the gym involves risks. And sitting in your house so nothing bad can happen to you... that's a waste. In order for women to see you as a MAN, you have to be a risk taker. |

The only way not to have risks is to die, and I don't think anyone here wants to die.

There is risk in everything, bulls23. Even a girl that you might though is a chase little angel, she probably had sleep with a guy that have STD. you don't know. What you should know is what you want out of your life? Are you going to take a little risk & enjoy your life with beautiful women or are you not going to take any risk, just sit there watching others? It's your choice, man. ~NAughty Napoleon |

I too am alarmed by the failure rate of condoms. Understand that %2 failure rate is with perfect use. Effective use rate of condoms is only %82. While withdrawl is %81. Which is why I went with a no-scalpel vasectomy. It cost like $750 and I now no longer have to even deal with condoms at all. STDs are nothing unless you get HIV/AIDs. Almost everything is easily curable with a pill or shot. Herpes is the only one that isn't, and the thing is, %80 of people get herpes over the course of their life. The %20 who do not, probably had few to no sexual partners. Remember that %4 of the population die as virgins. %16 having dated one or two people seems quite feasible to me. And it's just not a big deal. Do I have it? Probably. The thing is, like most of the rest of the population, I have never even experienced a single symptom. |
