From a purely physical standpoint, how does male attractiveness rate? I think this would help the men on here get an idea of what they're working with. I personally would like to know for my own interactions with men. I have a one-point rule: one point higher or one point lower. I can't find anything like this on the web. I should probably add that I consider 10 to be an impossible ideal and 1 to be deepest point of the uncanny valley. Thanks, guys! |

Yeah, I agree with him that raw looks can be very important for men. Most women I know say that height is very important, but I don't care so much. Height being a factor complicates the male 1-10 scale. I think it can add a point or take away a point to some kind of a base score (a man at 5'9-5'11). Without considering height, and just going on face and build, I wonder how men physically rate 1-10. |

QFT I think it's important for your own inner game to know exactly where you fit on the scale without doing too much to yourself to improve your looks. I mean, wouldn't it make you feel better if you were a 6 to women without shaving/being clean shaven and have a shitty haircut then realise you could push your rating up one or two points by simply having a bit of stubble and/or getting a haircut that suits you properly? Hell yeah! That's definitely going to improve your inner and outer game and the reality is most of us can actually do that rather simply. The reality is most guys would probably fit into the 6 or 7 category and women are okay with that. As with us men, there is no true universal 10 for women. Some women find George Clooney a solid 10 or 11 yet others wouldn't go near him. Some find Johnny Depp a 10 yet others prefer Ryan Gosling and wouldn't go near Johnny. Just about the only common ground for ratings scales is the solid 5-8. Those three ratings are all that matter for the 90% of us out there. Is there a problem with that? No, there really isn't and most of us can get to a 7 or 8 with small tweeks here and there. Losing weight would be on the list as well as toning up or getting buff but you'll still go up a point with a decent haircut, good clothing, confident posture and facial hair that suits you. Honestly, I think the only true 9s and 10s are reserved for those who are rich and famous, as in those who have social proof to cover absolutely any situation. They have success, security, abundance, confidence, carefree attitude, physical attraction and women openly declaring their likeness for them. That's the only way you'll reach 9 or 10. |

Any quality man would understand that there is no such thing as perfection, so therefor would never class themselves as a 10 and there is always room for improvement. |

It is an actual thing! I dated this guy who was easily an 8, probably more like an 8.5, by my very strict standards (slightly less hot than James Dean). The whole time we were out, hot women kept coming up to him and flirting. Gentleman that he was, he didn't flirt back, but could tell this was a constant annoyance. He was the wifing type, and he really wished that these women would stop degrading themselves. Hot guys know they're hot. I'd say my brother is something of a seven, perhaps a 7.5, cuz height. I can tell that women like him, but he's not magnetically attractive. His last GF initiated, but she was like a 6. She also had very little personality, and was often stewing in envy. We all joke about it. I guess I'd like to see a chart, so that numbering guys (based on physical attractiveness) gets more automatic. Physical attractiveness is street value. Other characteristics contribute to real value, or "relationship material." Your job isn't what makes me single you out from across the room. Your personality helps, but only if you aren't butt-ugly. If you're a nine, I'm going to be like, "okay, I'll give it a shot!" Your number is another way that you can gauge what you're working with/ up against. It shows who starts with the most power in the room. For me, it would help to know a bit more of what approach to use. I need to differentiate myself from other women, if I'm going to be successful. A guy who gets approached less or rejected more is going to respond better to me showing interest. A (wifing) guy who gets approached all of the time is going to want some variety of hard to get, to prove that I'm some kind of catch. I think the real crux of it is going to be 7, 7.5, 8. At 8, they're getting approached left and right. At 7.5, they're the Darcy type that grows on people. At 7, they're cute enough to essentially get all they want, but at this point, they need to put in effort. |
