| Post subject: | RSD - a source of unhappiness, making you feel bad? |
For obvious reasons I choose to post this here and not at rsdnation. I want to share some insights with you guys. First a brief history to give you some background... I became a single in the late 2011 after a 10 year long relationship and ended up in the PUA-community. I was active gaming for 3 months only, learning every theory there was, and was just about getting the results I was looking for when I met my current girlfriend. I still wanted to develop my skills, so I kept gaming "with limits" (no kissing, just trying to make the girls hook and chase me). I finally got skilled enough to compare myself to people we like to call "masters". I continued writing posts in forums like this to help people out and as pastime, and I continued watching clips on rsdnation. However, everytime I got out nowadays I get a bad feeling as if I'm not good enough. It's some kind of performance anxiety, blaming and criticizing myself everytime I'm not in a superhappy state. It makes me feel bad, and I've wondered for a long time why I do this and why I feel this way. I finally think I have the answer, and I blame RSD. The reason is simple, and it is the same reason why people who spend a lot of time on facebook become unhappy (it has been scientifically proven I think). The reason is that you only see a perfect facade of people's lives. All the bad and boring things never gets posted. When you see all this perfection you start comparing yourself to this, and there is not a chance that you will ever be able to live such a perfect life, and that's the reason why you become unhappy. The same applies to RSD. Especially Tyler and Julien give you this impression of being "perfect". They never show you any of their insecurities, never anything but maximum confidence and happiness. Instead of having the intended effect - giving you positive emotions and inspiration - it will start consume and drain your mind. Now when I've finally realized this, I will never go back to their site again. I'm happier without it. What do you think? Is it only me, or do you feel the same way? |

I sort of agree with you. Except for the part where you blame RSD. No mate RSD is not at fault for making you feel unworthy. You are. Because you were basing your own worth and happiness on what they say should make you happy etc. I hope this makes sense but I think you realised it already. I'm not protecting RSD. They have some useful stuff on their site and lot of crap. I would personally never take any pua video seriously. Even when I had no experience these guys looked weird as fuck to me. |

You are a little bitch. And you are saying stupid shit. Tyler and Julien are normal dudes like you who hustle all the fucking time and are working their asses of while you are complaining. All the shit they are showing and that you percive as perfect is just there to motivate you and to show you what's possible if you deal with all the boring and stupid or unperfect as you might say. Grow up and be the fucking man or stay a little bitch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3r-KvakUzU |

I can somewhat relate to this. I love RSD material it has helped me alot. I sometimes get a wierd feeling when watching certain videos that is similar to unhappiness. I think its because certain videos they do are snippets from full programs that when watched in full you get the build up and explaination of inner and outer game. |

This was an awesome post man. Personally I never liked watching any videos of other men picking up women, because I don't want any of that affecting my own style. I've always grew up a trail and error kind of guy, with the self belief that I would learn more from errors that anyone else did from the exact same error. But I've encountered a similar experience with a couple of my students. At first they even expected me to not get rejected ever. Its funny. The RSD guys and many of the PUA guys are in this to make the money FIRST and help people second. Which is cool; every man has his thing. But when you finally meet them, you encounter something that isn't parallel to what you saw on film. I've met my share of these guys; and I could always speculate that they get their motivation from the camera rolling. I didn't see the same guy. Love the post man. Guys need to know. Peace & Love |

the problem here is very simple its not RSD's tyler or juliens fault your feeling this way you could attach it them, i would say its current society's fault the media and advertisings fault, because they tell you your not perfect enough. this will kinda be a rant and a generalisation ill start with why we all started in the pickup world... obviously to get better with girls. but why? because when we were at school we saw that the jocks and athletes get the hot girls and you stay at home on saturday night to revise for maths. and lets face it nerds dont get laid popular people do. then when you reach adulthood you find a system that teaches you to find a girl that will let you bang her then you think your cool, then you see a tyler (for example) you know that in a second that girl whose ass youve been blowing smoke up will leave you a teary mess whilst he bangs your little princess. the game really isnt just about you getting the girl but its making sure she wants you over other guys, and when you cant do that you feel inferior. what about the media and advertising? they flood you with messages you aint good enough you see a model then you find out shes going out with a sports star who makes 50million a year, kim kardashian (personally cant stand the bitch) she goes from marrying kris humphries whose making shitloads dumps his ass, and then shacks up with kanye who makes even more then kris and then likes to splash out his wealth on luxury clothing mansions sports cars and rolexes. how does it feel to know that you never had a shot because you dont have enough money. advertising makes you feel inferior because if it didnt luxuries wouldnt be sold. lets be honest wouldnt you feel happier if your wardrobe was outfitted with gucci or armani i know i would, but i cant so it depresses the shit out of me but it makes me want it more, so when you actually can get it you buy it you get your momentary buzz then guess what you find something else, people arent satisfied with what they have they crave what they desire |

While I dislike RSD and agree it can make guys weird, your point is just not true. Tyler and almost every instructor ALWAYS talk about their shortcomings, how they have bad nights, how they are NOT perfect physically etc, so i can't say that if they made you feel like they were perfect it's their fault. I'll give them that; they send the message that they're happy and having fun, but they also show that they're human as well. |

I've been there, done that. I'm not rich but I have enough money to be able to buy some expensive things, and I used to do that a couple of years ago. Later I realized that it didn't make me happy at all. In my current relationship I'm struggling with my girlfriend since she wants us to spend all our money on stuff (e.g. furniture and kitchenware) that are status symbols. I hate that kind of shit, and I have no need to look wealthy in any way. It's just a facade everyone puts up, easy to see through.

well you are totally right, i will just rephrase it from NLP point of view, almost for myself (i like to do it First a brief history to give you some background... Is it only me, or do you feel the same way? everything we see a movie, we get effected by it, since our conscious mind is limited, it's can't analyze properly(or defend) big amounts of the information, that we absorb from television, when we start watching a movie, our conscious mind being shut down due to overloading, caused by the complexity of the visual, sound and kinestetic information that being needed to process, when our conscious mind is down, information start leak inside, rewrites our current data(memory) subconsciously, which sets us wrong patterns of behavior, with woman for example, who never thought he need to buy a drink for a woman or money? well your stated it just perfect |

Dude what? Firstly you're coming from this ridiculous mindset of seeing what the RSD guys have, comparing yourself and feeling jealous. When I see the RSD guys I think to myself "That's awesome. If I keep working hard I'll get there too". I feel inspired. If you're coming from this mindset of comparing yourself to others you're gonna be miserable with or without RSD. You'll just start comparing yourself to other people. You need to stop comparing yourself to others like this because you can never win. You'll always find someone who has better game than you or more money than you. And if you're still comparing yourself like this you'll feel miserable. Also, you can't have seen much RSD content if you think they try to come across as perfect. Tyler in particular speaks often about his depression and his social difficulties when he was growing up. And that's great because it inspires people like me who have had similar issues. I come from the mindset of "If this guy overcame his difficulties and did all this awesome stuff then I can do it too." Hope this helps. Sly-Mike |
