Ok, so I've pretty much got this in the bag, but I'm trying to figure out the best way to transition here. I moved to a new town about a week and a half ago, and I've been trying new coffee shops in town to see which ones I like. Well, last Wednesday, I randomly walk into this one coffee place. The barista and I accidentally look at each other in the eyes, and just like that, boom, it was on. We could tell instantly we were attracted to each other. She rushed in front of the other baristas to take my order, she was sassy and flirty towards me. Our eyes were locked the entire time and we were both giving strong signals of interest. I had to leave quickly that day, but I (correctly) surmised that she'd probably work the same day the next week, which was tonight. I went to the coffee shop, she was there, and the only one working. Her eyes lit up when she saw me. She was, once again, flirty and sassy. I asked her name, she asked mine. While looking into my eyes she forgot that they had the type of tea I ordered. I made fun of her for that and when it took a little while to make. As I was walking out the door, she yelled good bye and my name. So what I've established here is that the girl is pretty interested. But I'm not quite sure how to approach a girl who is working. Do I just ask her number like normal? Invite her on a date? Build up a bit of rapport first by coming back a few times? She's very clearly into me, and I'm into her, I'm just not sure how to proceed in this scenario. Should I show up more frequently? Every occasionally? I mean, the shop is on my way home, so it isn't crazy for me to stop there every once in a while, and I absolutely guarantee she knows I stopped there tonight to talk to her. |

I feel like there have been a lot of posts recently where the person posting has done 90% of the approach work and then is "wondering what to do next." She's thinking "when the fuck is this guy going to ask me out?" and she's probably telling her friends that too. So what is next, is you either A. ask when she is off work/when her next day off is, B. Hand her a business card or write your number on a napkin. I think both will work fine, but go with A if you can because it shows confidence/masculinity. You can even pretend to confirm your order or something and tell her then. Regardless, its gonna be all romantic and sappy for her because, well, bitches love stuff like that. Good luck man. |

Oh I'd obviously go direct on this - I just haven't actually asked out a coffee shop girl before. I suppose it's like any other shop though, and I've occasionally done that. I've only seen her twice, so while I'm sure she's thinking, "Well, this boy is obviously into me", I doubt she's frustrated that I haven't asked her out yet. When should I next try to go to the coffee shop/how frequently? It's not something I'd do extremely commonly in the evening, but it's literally on my walk home. |

Just ask, but beware, hired guns (yes coffee shop girls count) are notoriously flirty and good ones are really good at making you feel like you are "special" and "no, she was treating me differently than the other customers". |

Oh I agree, that's part of their job description. I'm usually fairly good at reading actual attraction versus work flirtiness. If this one is only doing work flirtiness, she's literally the best I've seen at it. |

Direct man. Just be confident, approachable and funny. Tell her that you've couldn't but notice her whenever you come in and tell here you'd like to take her out for a cup of coffee... |

I'd just go for the kill. Set something up for a Thursday night, like a bar or something. If you're wondering how to initiate the topic, I'd just ask her how her day's going. Tell her you're new around here and ask her about some fun places she recommends. Ask her what days she has off and snag her number. To be honest, logistics of dates has never been my strong suite. Getting numbers is, though. In your situation I would usually just try to transition the conversation into nightlife and try to gauge what type of chick she is. Does she go out all the time? Does she work weekends and have a declining social life as a result? Factors like these determine how I ask her out. It's just picking a day/time that works that I suck at lol Lunches suck. Breakfast is a no-go. If I can't schedule something in the evening within a 2 weeks span, I give up too easily (I'm lazy). Also, I wouldn't worry about building rapport. That's trying too hard. You don't even know this chick yet. She's obviously receptive to you, so I would pull the trigger if you're genuinely attracted to her. Fuck it. Either she likes you, or she doesn't (unlikely). She'll definitely go cold if you keep coming around but never ask her - that's a promise (I've done that SOOO many times in the past). |
