Right the question here might seem pretty silly and obvious but I am curious Do girls really care about valentines day? When I say care I mean really care. I have a lot of female friends who make silly little jokes and constantly refer to being single when it comes near that time of the year. I presumed that most girls where mature enough to not be too bothered (obviously they want a little something) but others are obviously social conditioned to really feel it is a special day. The reason I ask is because I was with the girl I am seeing tonight and I went home after nothing more kissing (we have slept together before), she said we would finish it on Friday (V Day). I got home and my female SPAM said that she had probably done it on purpose as a way of saving it for Valentines day. Thoughts? |

Valentine's Day is predicated on two things: 1. Her wanting to be seen as wanted (she gets flowers, chocolate and her friends see it all go down) 2. She wants to see "effort" from the guy The answer is YES, they care. The ones that don't are secretly hoping a dude comes parachuting into the classroom to hand her flowers. Sure its a stupid hallmark holiday, but its still a special occasion to most women. So why not treat it that way once a year? In Japan, they have a day called "White Day" on 3/14, where specifically, the dude has to plan everything. Now THAT is some bullshit. Anyways, if you have a chance to do something proper for somebody on V-day, just fuckin do it. You have nothing to lose and more to gain (pussy). Plus...a good showing here means a really nice birthday or Christmas, build those karma points! |

You're looking for a white or black answer... Every girl is different. Some girls care about that type of "sentimental" stuff... Some don't. My advice for you is to just plan something. Doesn't matter what it is... Just have it all set up. Give her a day where you make her feel special. |

Question: I'm taking a girl out on v day for our first date. The plan was to have had some dates before this date but she's been ill, then I went on holiday, then more personal stuff got in the way and thus now the date is on v day. It being the first date and her having told me when she got with me/told me she liked me also indicated that she wants it to be casual, comfortable and just wants us to have fun whilst being together sort of thing. So essentially my mindset is: Get her something for valentines = Coming on too strong Not getting her something for valentines = She considers me to be an inconsiderate asshole. WHAT TO DO? |

Agreed with Charles. And if you happen to think of some small gift that you could buy her (NOT flowers, chocolate, etc so early on) that relates to some conversation you've had with her that costs around $5, that might be a nice touch also. As an example, if she mentioned that she loves cotton candy (I know, I'm grasping at straws for an example here) then get her some of that. But nothing too expensive or try-hard; just something that shows you listen. |

My valentines date flaked a few hours before the date... Well she didnt really flake, she was sick. She was sick before, i knew that, but it got worse so she said she feels so bad she wants to stay home alone....I was kind of disappointed because i was so looking forward seeing this girl...Well....I just went out with another girl instead. |
