When I get the one word replies, I usually just reply with a " :p " and see if she keeps the interaction going which will mean an IOI.
If I know the girl is not really interested. I will bring out the qualification, I will send something a bit challenging to her, this will make or break the interaction. For example:
"If I was alone with your best friend in the whole world, what would he/she tell me about you that you probably won't mention in your profile?, the good and the bad
"If she still one word replies, Don't waste anymore time, but if she gives you a detailed answer, you will have some investment from her - you are on a good path and just continue to game her.
