| Post subject: | Ignoring Worked Great. Now Clarification Needed |
This is a hybrid practice report/question: There is this girl in class that I have been practicing on for the last few weeks with no real tangible result. Today I decided to ignore her. So i went to class, sat down next to her as usual, and totally focused on the lecture. During the lecture I could tell that she was expecting me to look over at her and make a comment like i normally do - which i didnt. I actually subtly shifted my sitting posture so that she was slightly shut-out. When she would inadvertently give an IOI (i was still aware of her although I was not really paying attention to her) i would open up my posture (showing off my groin a bit) to "reward" her with attention. Then i'd pull it back in. To not be too unfriendly, just after a break I gave her my attention and asked how she is. She told me that she's been sick in a way that came off as insecure - like she's giving an excuse for something. I just gave friendly but short pat IOD responses. At the end of class I packed up my stuff w/out really acknowledging her imnportance in my world and then turned around immediately to chat up another girl behind me whom I'm also (sort of) practicing on but I would put as a lower looks value than the one next to me. I then turned around after a few minutes and cordially addressed the target re: her cold. I then told her that I hopes she gets better and what might make her feel better is to go home, take a hot shower, and put on some nice clothes. that way even if you dont feel good about yourself on the inside you can feel good about yourself on the outside (lol.. that neg cracks me up). I went back to talking to the other girl and while we were talking, the target i was negging actually interjected herself to say an akward goodbye (you could tell she was flustered). Ok.. so "holy shit! this stuff works" aside,... how would you follow up? I wont see her for another five days and my overall practice goal is for her to want to give me her phone number. Advice? Critique? thanks |
