A friend of mine recently entered a relationship with some woman he met and she has ADHD. It seems like it flares up really badly when she's drunk, and she starts talking about how she loves to fuck and turns everything into a sex topic. She also brings up her exes and all the times she fucked them. She also talks about how every time she gets drunk, she wakes up with her pants off and can't remember anything even if she went to a party or something. Obviously my friend gets annoyed about everything she says like this, but the larger concern is whether or not her ADHD would cause her to cheat. If ADHD causes people to do/say things on impulse, would if not follow that cheating is often impulsive and therefore ADHD would increase the chance of infidelity? Or do you believe that the same rules apply as with any "normal" relationship where it all boils down to whether or not the guy can successfully keep her attracted to him. Does anyone have any experience with dating a woman who has ADD/ADHD? |

When I was 16, I got diagnosed with ADD, but to tell you the truth.. I reckon everyone that went in for that diagnosis on that day did aswell. I went to some group therapy thing and there was this kid there who had serious aspergers or something. That's when something clicked and I started to realise this ADD thing might be bollocks. If you ask someone what ADD is, you will never get a straight reply. 'Oh its a number of things'. Rubbish. I don't disagree that some brains contain more serotonin than others and some people having certain difficulties like concentration problems or impulsivity (myself included and why I fuck it up sometimes), but to label it with 3 letters and use it as an excuse is wrong. If this girl gets wasted and does stuff like this, then shes's a c***t. That's all there is to it. |
