I have been involved in the pua/seduction world for about 2 months now. I have read the game and from there I read Double your dating and am currently reading introduction to nlp (not design for pua purposes but can be used for them). I found that double your dating had very little canned openers (a good thing in my opinion). But I also didn't feel like I came away with a lot. Thinking about it now I can't think of that many things that I learned from it, well I can just not many applicable techniques. I know that I am missing something I have already reread it once. I wasn't sure if there is a recap of the things that should be taken away from the book anywhere or if it was just a bad book. Anyways I would like to know of what I should read next. I would like to learn something along the lines of seduction/nlp with less canned openers yet more techniques than double your dating |

There's a multitude of books to be read on pick-up, many of which come from indirect sources such as how to build motivation, how to read body language, etc. However no matter how much you read, until you get out in the field and practice interacting with people, you won't progress. So practice instead of read! Interact with people, open sets, etc. Don't have the sole outcome of pulling, just have the goal of being sociable and interacting with as many people as you can. When you're comfortable in this environment try employing some techniques you have learnt. THEN read some more, and implement what you learn into your game. This is in my opinion the best way to develop your lifestyle. Good luck! |

I started with Double Your Dating back in 2003. It's great for beginners to get better mindsets and such. I later found The Game and Mystery Method, and it made me waste a lot of time with really stupid and awkward canned material. I know what you're talking about. Don't bother with the NLP stuff, though, because that just gets more awkward. What are your goals with pickup? Depending on what you're looking for, I can point you in several different directions. |

Double Your Dating is basic shit... David D is great though. I would dig deeper into David D's material he has far more advanced shit than that book. Art Of Seduction by Robert Greene is a must read.... Honestly (I may be hated on by this board for saying this) I like Mystery but I never really felt comfortable with his style... there's too much science to it (I guess that'd be the right way to say it) it ends up driving people crazy because it's almost like you're stuck following a strict set of steps in order to attract a woman. The you try to be too perfect and beat yourself up when you forget a step. I see a lot of people on this board like that. It seems like you're in the right direction. |

Are you just going to keep reading shit or are you actually going to go out and apply some of it? None of what you read will do anything if you just keep reading about it. |

I want stuff that isn't canned but also isn't just general stuff and has lots of tips and strategies. I know that this might not help narrow it down but any suggestions are appreciated

The first month of my Seductive Introvert program focuses entirely on inner game and important "general stuff" that you might be missing out on with other material. The second month focuses entirely on Sexualization tips and strategies to give you a shortcut to actually getting laid. Gambler's Stealth Attraction DVDs (read my full review of it here) covers tips and strategies for the club very extensively if you like clubbing. It's not the same old canned Mystery Method bullshit. |

What's worked for me is carrying a festering, burning hate of all women while doing your pickup. you'll never fall in love, you'll see her for the cheap piece of meat that she is and you're sex and make outs are going to be insane because the emotion within just comes out and takes her for a ride and she doesn't even know it USER HAS BEEN WARNED FOR THIS POST. That is great that you read DYD. I think it is a very good book. It's one of the only ones I have read. My suggestions- before you decide to go read a bunch more, how about you go out and talk to girls and just do your best to apply what you learned? Even if you have no road map or opener or technique, you will learn a lot more than if you read another book. Always do 2 hours of approaching for every 1 hour of studying. If you study too much, without going in field you could suffer irreversible damage and become a keyboad jockey. As far as books to read, there's lots out there. I dont even know where to start on naming them all. There's books entirely about opening, books full of techniques, books about beating approach anxiety. The list goes on and on. |
