| Post subject: | How to follow up in this situation? |
Hi I'm new here. In my later 30's. I need some opinions, tips on a recent opportunity. I am usually pretty good at reading IOIs but was thrown a curve the other night. A band I manage was playing a gig at a packed bar. I met up with some older friends and family members. Showed up by myself.. still dressed to attract, even though I did not plan on picking anyone up. My normal personality is quite friendly as I naturally smile make eye contact, and get people to smile back. Anyway..I was nice to see that the venue was jam packed with extremely attractive waitresses and a hot bartender. My group was at one of the front tables and the hot bartender waited on us. Extended conversation was limited due to the loud noise. The bartender was swamped but she did check on us occasionally. I had to draw her close just so she could hear my drink order. She brought the drink right away asked the table if they needed anything.. I thanked her.. She checked back about 30 min later when we flagged her down between the packed bar and other tables she had. I honestly thought absolutely nothing about picking her up. I did not see any IOIs. I worked late all week, so I took an earlier leave from the group so I could get some rest and get up early for the work the next day. Next day comes around and I call to see how the rest of the night went. I was surprised to hear that the hot bartender was asking about me after the band was done. She asked who I was. Then asked someone my age. When she found out she told the person, "Wow. . he does not look that old. But.. I am older too." (She is still 10 years younger than me.. Not old at all). She also asked what I did, etc. They told her I would be back with the band in a month for the next gig. She said she did not work that night but would try and make sure she showed up. So here is the question.. A lot can happen to block this in a month especially with Valentines Day coming up. I could inquire about her, show up when she is bar tending.. But I do not want too eager or obvious. The conversation may be difficult if she is swamped with customers again. I do know some people that work and manage the bar.. so I could make sure she gets my card.. If she is really that interested. Which route to take? Do nothing, Wait..visit..leave card..or something else? Thanks! baisaidai |

Do Nothing = No Results Leaving a Card = Leaves fate in the hands of a middle man which results in her not getting the card, or getting the card and too nervous to call you. March your ass down there on a day that's not busy.. find out when she's working and say "hey this might be crazy but I had to get a chance to talk to you... would you like to go out for coffee/lunch/dinner/ happy hour some time? I'd like to get to know you more." get her number then arrange a date. This shouldn't be a problem if she's really been asking about you. |
