Back when I was in college (before I learn about game, so no point in crying over spilled beer) I was hung up on a chick who was a teacher's assistent and had a crush on the teacher she assisted. Classic friendzone situation, she would come to me bitching about wathever and I never got anything out of it. Now I know I should have escalated, froze if that did not work and next her if the freeze-out did not work either. But that is beside the point. The thing is, the teacher was a good looking guy in his mid 30's, married, a kid, and an arrogant bastard with a very well known string of affairs. The girl I was interested in (again, now I realize it was pretty much due to lack of options and I think I dodged a bullet...) was alternating between "oh, he is so handsome, I'm gonna marry him some day" and "he's such a jerk!", she even complained to me he told her to book an hotel room for one of his mistresses, so this was a pretty messed up girl. Back then I just used to nod allong hoping the situation would eventually crash and burn and I would be there for the rebound. But now I was thinking, what if I had given her a reality check, something in the lines of "You're just going to be the next in line and when he is done with you he will dump you like he dumped all the ones before you. Or are you expecting him to leave his wife for you and that you will live happily ever after? Grow up!" And then freeze. I mean, I had nothing to lose, but could that turn it in my favour? |

You'll never know unless you try. There are some actions though that done x number of times will almost lead to the same result y number of times.
