Seriously, though. I agree that gas money is not an issue. I was one of the first on my social circle to get a car and always refused gas money. I was transporting my friends so we could have fun together, not running a taxi service.
If you really think that is an issue, treat the desease, not the symptom. You don't have a job. Fine. Plenty of opportunities for go-getters. Some of my favourite ways to get quick cash when I was in college:
Tutoring. Post some ads on local high schools and rich folks will pay you to help their dumb kids study. You may even hook up with some hot (legal) teens who want to hang with an older college guy.
Buying and selling stuff. If you don't have storage space, focus on small, high value items. The police is constantly auctioning lost stuff that was never claimed. For exemple, you can buy a bag with 6 medium range cell phones for €70 or €90. Buy cords, download and print the user manuals and you can sell them for €40 to €50 each. If you have storage space (garage, basement, etc.) you can buy storage units, like on those History and Discovery Channel shows. Or better yet, entire house contents. Sometimes some old guy dies, the family has to give the house to the landlord until the end of the month and will pretty much give the stuff away, since the other option was carrying it to the dumpster and gaining nothing.
I did the used crap sales throughout college and it payed for my first BMW. Used, obviously. It's not THAT lucrative.
