Hey guys, I had a situation last night, that left me scratching my head and I wondered if you have any suggestions. So there's a girl I met briefly through work, I work across a few bars and she works in one of them. Anyway, last night I had my eyes set on her. We banter alot together and have great interactions with each other. Last night we were out with a group of our mutual friends, all sat down in my bar. The mood was good, and we were all having a great laugh with one another. I was chatting with her and the rest of the girls in my group and just generally teasing them all and getting them laughing. Everytime I moved out of my seat Id notice the girl I was after would just watch me and look around for me, so after I showed her I was having a good time with everyone, I figured, 'lets step it up a bit'. So I went over to her, and took the seat next to her, we had a good laugh for about thirty seconds. I was sitting with relaxed body language, when something weird happened... My knee rested against the corner of her chair, and casually brushed her leg, and she noticed, and suddenly BAM! She shunted herself a little bit along her chair and folded her arms and crossed her legs and became immediately disinterested. So I thought, okay, I obviously did something wrong there, Ill give her some space and lean away a little bit, turned my attention away and chatted to the person on the otherside of me. Then I re initiated convo with my target. I kid you not she moved so far over to the side of her chair that she was nearly falling off, faced away with such disinterest and coldness that it actually shocked me (considering the good interactions we have previously had). Now Ill be honest, Im not that interested in this girl, she is hot and I can imagine she gets a fair bit of attention from other guys, but if I want to improve in this area of my life (which Im dead serious about), Id like to know other peoples opinions on where I went wrong. Thanks in advance. |

Hey man, my best guess is that she must have perceived your kino attempt as an invasion of her private space and reacted accordingly... You could have misread her attention as attraction when she only viewed you as a colleague... or she may have some old trauma that she was acting on... Last piece of advice, when you game your co-workers, try to do it out of the work environment and out of the presence of other colleagues... |

Yeah, this seems weird. The only way to actually know what you did wrong would be to watch you in action, or on video. But that is not possible I guess. If you know that you didn't give her the wrong impression in any other way, she did indeed overreact. I would've asked her right away "hey, what happened? did I do something wrong?" with an attitude of blaming her being too sensitive. |

Haha, yeah I reread what I had written and I agree it does sound creepy as fuck. Ill reiterate what I meant: My leg accidently touched her chair, and brushed off her; there was no intention behind it. This is why I was so shocked at her reaction. But on the same hand, maybe you have a point, maybe it did come across as creepy.Hugge, yeah, I didnt even think, I just reeled. Maybe it would have been better to call attention to her reaction, I still think it would have been hard to turn anything around from that blowout. Like I said, Im not that bothered, but I am really curious to what sort of wrong impression I gave in that instance. Thanks for the replies. |
