I'm new to this and have some serious approach anxiety. I even have a hard time approaching female co-workers who i've known for a while. Anyways, i read about newbie misions being able to help this and was wondering if anyone knew some fun or interesting ones i could try? |

Approach everyone you have a chance to. Guy, girl, old, young, all of them. Get used to starting conversations with strangers. I know it's easier said than done (I have AA problems too), but keep work out your convo skills like you would a muscle- at least a few reps a day. |

The is my training program for people that I mentoring from the PMZ. If you sign up, you can get them as well. It will help you with starting out. Lets face it, approach anxiety (AA) is the biggest hurdle that has to be overcome before you can start to be a PUA. It can be very intimidating walking out into the world and engaging in conversations with strangers. It can be even more intimidating when you have to do it alone. To be done by yourself Step1: Ten Names: Introduce yourself to ten different people and get their name. (U is you, T is target) U: Hi! My name is xxxx. What is your name. T: xxxx U: It was a pleasure meeting you. That is it. Do not engage them in conversation. All you want to know is their name. No expectations. There is no anxiety because there are no expectations. Even if they want to talk, you walk away. Annotate their name and move on to the next one. Step2: Ten Names2: Introduce yourself to five different groups of people. Have one in each group repeat their name. U: Hi! My name is XXX. What is your name. T: xxxx U: And you? (Look to other member of the set) T: xxxx U: What was that? T: xxxx U: It was a pleasure meeting you. Again, do not engage them in conversation. Just the name. Walk away. Week 1 tips: As you start to talk, have your hand out to shake their hands. Do not approach the person from behind. Try it will targets sitting down and standing up. |
