Post subject:  Telling a girl that flaked to flake in advance

So I had a date with a girl tonight, but I didn't do a lot of making sure that it happened (I find following up and confirming a day or two in advance reduces my flake % phenomenally)

Anyway, she texts me saying she's sorry, she has a meeting at 9 PM tonight (the date was at 8, so my assumption is that she just didn't feel like meeting), she forgot. What's a good alternative day.

I respond with telling her that that's fine, Friday or Sunday work for me, but in the future, if she is going to cancel, she has to let me know in advance, because I'm pretty busy (which is true, I try to generally keep a fairly active social life, and while I didn't cancel any plans today, I also didn't MAKE any plans today, which I could have).

Is this a good way to respond, or should I have tried to build more comfort/attraction with her?

I usually don't text to confirm. Most of the time, I set the date only a few days in advance since I'm lazy and time bridge is a pain in the ass. So usually I text them when I'm on my way or an hour in advance with an inside joke or something (EX: I'm gonna be 11 minutes late, gotta rescue this kitten). Or most of the time, if the girl is interested, she would remember the date and confirm it before I do, those are the girls that I will invest my time and energy in.
