Post subject:  What if she asks "Are you about to cry?" (in a sad moment)?

My question might sound not PUA-related in the first place but I am really interested if I have the right mindset from an general PUA perspective. So:

Situation:
a) It happened when my family's cat died after 6 week of not eating any more, my girl friend at that time knew what the call was about and when I went out on the terrace to digest the sad news (not crying but with indeed wet eyes) and came back in, she asked "did you cry"? We had a very close relationship, full of trust, she loved me really, she has already two kids, so nothing superficial
b) The second evening with an HB8 who invited me to visit her (in Danmark), she didn't want to go out but cooked for me and then wanted to watch a movie on DVD. We sat/lied on her couch and at a certain moment, the film got really sad and again, I had wet eyes, not yet tears, and she asked "are you crying?".

Question: What is the PUA's correct response?
- One might say quickly "a real man never cries" so should neglect and hide it at all cost
- On the other hand, I think a real strong, independent man can even show tears in such a situation (of course NOT when she just dumped you etc.) because he has nothing to hide and is not afraid of what other think about him, HBs included. Like I remember that once Argentina lost a football final and Diego Maradona cried, the commentator said "only real men cry" or similar
- Also, a very attractive (but 40something) American NLP trainer once told me on the same question: "But this is super hot, a confident man that shows emotions" - but a MILF might not think like younger girls

Thank you in advance for your opinions!

On these two situations, I would admit to that. Like you said, there is nothing wrong with showing emotion, as long as you are not overly emotional.

I would respond like this:

On the cat situation: "Well, my cat died after enduring a long period of suffering. I know he's at peace now, but I can't help it but miss him. After all, he was a loyal friend for x years..."

On the movie situation: "This is some sad stuff. How come chicks never want to see Die Hard?"

By all mean, a real alpha man is not afraid to show his emotions at the right moment and for the right reason. There is a big difference between crying at your best friend's funeral and crying when your favorite character in the movie died.

Be yourself. They respect that. Let's say you're on a first meeting with a girl and she tells you an incredibly sad story and you cry a little bit. As long as you're comfortable with yourself as a MAN there is nothing wrong with that. Be congruent. Are you a human or a robot? Humans cry.

This question is part of the warped minded, over thinking of every little thing. That you need to become the master of the universe and align all of the stars in just such a way for a woman to want you.

If you were whiny and weak, and (especially) came to her to comfort you all the time, yes she'd lose respect for you and it would irritate her.

This, is not a big deal.
