I'd say like 2% of the general population knows about the "community." Guys who rely on "techniques" don't hang around for very long. It's about being a fucking man. |

It hasn't been that bad. You get the typical guys every once in a while who just want answers (make one post and then never return). But other than that the community is still great; everyone is still helping out each other out. |

You get sick of all the AFC shit and the "I want to make this girl my girlfriend because I love her but she doesn't love me" crap. Too many AFCs and too many first time posters who just haven't read up or practiced PU giving their AFC opinions. I'm kind of on~off with the forums right now. I'm not really learning anything just find myself repeating the basics of PU. |

We need a Wikipedia of FAQ on here for newbies to look at first before posting. 500 posts to allow you to write extra material with the mods having edit powers to keep it tidy. |

It's still effective... it's just not as exclusive. I have a feeling the mainstream PUA will die out very quickly because of all the AFCs around giving terrible advice which leads to mixed up opinions but PU will always be around. There'll most likely be a few more invite only forums cropping up where the real business goes down that's hidden from the general public. |

As someone who posts on /r/relationships and /r/dating_advice on reddit.. I can tell you that most people are completely clueless about PUA. |

Well, "pick up" is just a name for what men have been doing for all of history. There isn't some huge paradigm shift going on- guys have been sitting around talking about ways to pick up chicks for a loooonnnngg time. If anything, just like all small communities, the internet and its transparency has given the entire world visibility into it, just like lots of other circles. Folks have always been aware of the fact that people go to bars to find people to fuck. All the advice that's good suggests being a better stronger person, anyway, and none of that shit is new. The paradigm shift happened with the feminist movement, and men have been slow to react to the changes in women's attitudes in the last 40-50 years. Well, most men. cliffs: FBGM |

PUA has never nor will it ever be something thats "mainstream." Stuff that goes mainstream is shit like 6 minute abs because it claims to offer people a quick solution to their problem. Some companies market PUA as a "quick fix" but then people will get into it and realize that it's not. I have a feeling the mainstream PUA will die out very quickly because of all the AFCs around giving terrible advice which leads to mixed up opinions but PU will always be around. There'll most likely be a few more invite only forums cropping up where the real business goes down that's hidden from the general public. People don't want to do anything that is going to take "work" or "effort." They want it all done for them... Once they find out that there is no magic pill, they get out of it. Same reason why people will buy the 6 minute abs program and realize that the only way to get abs is by a good exercise program and a healthy lifestyle... they get pissed off at the 6 minute abs. |
