I get the "what are you thinking" a lot of time, and for good reason. I work on the field of corporate intelligence and risk management, wich is not something you just drop at the end of the day. I am working practically 24:7, there is always something work-related on the back of my mind, like a puzzle I have to finish.
So a lot of times I seem distant, and she asks me that, to which I respond with the truth, usually something like "China's economic growth strategy and how it affects the exports of one of my clients". That is how intersting conversations start
