I'm somewhat on the fence about this one... When a girl asks what my name is I usually make a girl guess it("I'll give you one chance/guess.") but almost always if there's someone I know near she'll immediately ask him what my name is and tell him to whisper it to her. Am I correct in viewing this as a sign of interest? She doesn't want to fuck up when I give her one chance to get my name right? Usually when they do this I give an obviously fake name. It seems a bit counterproductive. |

You're reading way too deeply into the situation... If the girl is still standing infront of you and hasn't told you "FUCK OFF! GET AWAY!"... she is interested. Stop thinking so much. |

Just saying your actual name is harmless. Over thinking. Just don't react in a way that you have won the lottery or something when she does ask your name. |

I suppose my real question wasn't if it was an IOI. What I meant was, is it good to make a woman guess your name and then make one up after she cheats(By asking your friend)? |

Why wouldn't you use your real name with a girl unless its extremely weird. I'm more weirded out using my real name on a place like these forums than with a girl LOL. |

Just to tease? Haha. I get mixed reactions but I do tend to insist on the fake name. I guess I need to fine tune it. Tease with it but come clean straight after(If they know i'm lying anyway) and use it as an inside joke around new girls or guys to the group to build a connection with the existing set. |

Yeah why not. Womans like to play. Play with them, let her guess. When she find it, tell her good girl. when not, appreciate her effort. |

My name is Andy, I'll usually tell girls that my name is Andy, but that they can call me Jack. Sorta confuses them, but in a good way. I've found the name guessing game to not work well - they get bored too quickly. |

Yeah, I was getting that impression myself, Pikeman85. I still think it leaves a bit of mystery to joke about it but not too much time spent on it. I'm going to mess about with telling them to guess it, if they don't get it i'll give a fake name and if they react well to it i'll play along, if not i'll just tell them. I want to fine tune this as I know there is some good in it, just wonder how much... |

A much better use of guess is having the girl guess your age. You can back out from their guess how old they likely are and then game accordingly. Guessing a name still seems stupid to me. |

Name exchange gets you inside. Breaking rapport at the very start is risky. Just be normal, and say your real name, then you can do the gamey stuff when when she asks you your age "have a guess" and where you are from "heaven" If you just constantly break rapport, you're gonna fuck it up. Moderation. |
