So I have a huge one-itis over one girl for almost a year. As soon as I realized that I fell for her, I broke up my pity relationship with an insecure Christian gf and decided to do all I can to get my crush. I didn't go too aggressively after her because she had a boyfriend. I kept flirting with her and got some decent responses. It was going really well actually and I figured that as soon as she breaks up with her boyfriend, I will definitely get her.
She broke up with her boyfriend alright, dumped him for another guy she liked a long time ago (the guy that fucked her friend
). It seemed like I almost felt a physical pain when I heard it. "You gotta be shitting me!" was the first thing I thought in my mind. When I asked our common friend how they hooked up, she told me that she was feeling shitty one night and he "nursed her" 
I was oblivious about it and wondered why she started avoiding me lately and what did I do to creep her out (she would literally try to disappear as soon as she saw me). To top off my humiliation, she gave me that pity look and a hug with backrub.... One-itis is the most awful fucking feeling out there, can't even properly concentrate on my studies because of it. What would be the better way to go about this situation? Try not to interact with her at all and focus on hooking up with someone else or throw a comment like "Damn! I heard you already got into another relationship. I see you don't fuck around!" or "I heard you got a new boyfriend" she "yeah" me "Want another one?". Guess throwing the comments like that would only make me even more needy, obsessed and jealous in her eyes and are completely unnecessary.
Anyways, I guess it goes without saying but GUYS! NEVER TRY TO GO FOR A GIRL WITH A BOYFRIEND IF YOU CAN'T CLOSE HER RIGHT AWAY. EVEN IF SHE FLIRTS WITH YOU. NEVER WAIT AROUND, YOU WILL MOST LIKELY NOT SUCCEED WITH SUCH MINDSET!
