http://www.attendly.com/the-benjamin-fr ... -too-late/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yP1o-JkR3f0 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Franklin_effect In short, it's cognitive dissonance. If you do nice things for someone, you will end up liking them more. Likewise, if someone does something nice for you, they will like you more. Why? Because your brain doesn’t like it when your actions don’t match the beliefs you have about yourself. If you believe that you don’t like someone, but then you help them, your brain gets confused. To ease the confusion, it changes what you believe – you start to think you like them after all. I've actually had multiple first-hand experiences with this phenomenom. Once was at this job where I was worked like a dog, but my boss always praised my work, and had me do him errands and favours. He was a dick, but overall I felt certain kinship toward him. Other accounts are ones I'm sure many of you will relate to, dealing with wanting to do favors for girls you like. Anyone, ever try doing this in seduction? SPAM, I'm trying things out with a certain girl with whom I can connect with quite well. Got some issues boggling my brain back at home, and I'm basically unloading it all on her, asking her for her input, like a sort of favor, so she can clear my head. Will, report back on how well it works when I can. |

We're actually using this in picking up for a while, people just don't realize it. The way you kino, framing and creating comfort is based on the same concept. You're being close and intimate with them tricks their brain into thinking they're attracted to you even you just met them 10 minutes ago. |

Thanks ST for this article. I've heard of this in psychology, but never heard it mentioned as the Benjamin Franklin effect. |

I constantly ask women to do things for me whether I'm trying to smash them or not. Hand me this. Grab me that. Light my cig. Pour me a drink. Come pick me up. Bake me some cookies. Clean my kitchen. Hold my drink. Throw this away for me. Call my buddy tell him we are on the way.Tie my shoe. Scratch my back. Wash my back. Cup my balls. Put that condom on with ur mouth. Finger my ass. You know? |
