Post subject:  Need motivation..

Went to this tapioca tea store to study and there was this hb sitting on the couch watching videos on her laptop with earplugs in.

I noticed her after her study buddy left (looked total afc but I could be wrong) leaving her by herself but I couldn't summon the courage to just walk up and say hi. What's worst is that it got slow after awhile and at one point it was just me and her! Ugh, I hate myself for this.

It's not easy for me.. I can sit here and say "just do it man" over and over again but cold approaching is just hard for me. I would have an easier time striking a conversation if we're both waiting in line to buy something but cold approaching is a different game.

Anyways, a rant and a small question... what would you have done/said in that situation? Approaching someone who's on their laptop with ear plugs in?

Funny, I ran into this same situation at the book store yesterday, a girl with her headphones in on her laptop. It's a little more difficult to approach girls that are distracted by something like their phones or electronics, and it may even be perceived as rude to approach.

If that's rude, then almost every pickup is rude. But honestly, if she really had to be some where or do something, then she'd do that thing where she stutters for a second while looking away from you, and then she'd walk right around you or go back to her computer. I think the reason most day gamers go with the direct approach is because it takes the situation from helping a random stranger (which nobody really wants to do) to receiving praise and complements. They think, "Okay. This is better than youtube." So you hold their attention.

1 for motivation: this is a chance to talk to a hot girl when she is alone, dont miss it again!!
think about it this way,you tried to get with her:you made a move, most guys dont :) and there is no social environment around so no chance of anyone laughing at you :)

2:smile and ask her something like:hey what type of laptop is that ? or if she has books with her
pick a random book in the pile and say:ive seen this book like everywhere, whats it about ?? :D

You could have said "did your buddy leave" just to start the convo. Or you could have asked what she was watching, asked if it was good, something of that sort.

I think you need to get online and get you a fat girlfriend that no one wants. Craigslist is overrun with them and it's free. That's where I see you being most happy.
