Ok long story short. I was in high school 5 years ago and dated an extremely nice funny and incredibly hot girl for 2 years. We had a great relationship for a while but it ended when I cheated on her. 5 years later we both live in our hometown and have remained friends. We are both in the same place in our lives as I'm buying a house, working steady etc. She recently just graduated college and is single as am I. Recently I have been thinking a lot about her and how dumb I was to have cheated. Mind you I have been with many other women and had many relationships and so has she. We have recently started getting more and more flirty through texts and encounters and its clear she is interested again. My question is can this ever work, will she ever get over my cheating or will it be on her mind during our new relationship? Has anyone here reconnected with a past high school love and can offer advice? |

Personally I would game as if she was all brand new. You are not the same pubescent bundles of hormones that you were in High School. I would avoid the cheating topic like the plague, it would only be a detriment to your efforts. If she mentions it, sidestep it, change the subject or, dismiss it as above. Quote: its clear she is interested again.

I should add she is talking? seeing someone, but I just take this as being single....? She is still showing interest though in me! |

That actually sounds like an awesome situation. Girl you banged a long time ago, things went sour, and now time has erased all wounds and you two are interested in each other again. Yea, just game her as normal. If cheating comes up, tell her you were a stupid kid back then and that one of your recent gf's cheated on you so you know how it feels now. That will show that you have grown up and realized the error of your ways...even if you haven't, lolz. |

All you have to do is address it nonchalantly. " Hey babes, be honest? You think you could ever trust me again after that whole cheating thing? " Ask her about it like it doesn't matter either way. This is a great opportunity to dump out any old baggage or anything she may be subconsciously holding against you. Its simple. As for can it work...The odds are stacked against you, but stranger things have definitely happened. Be optimistic, keep building, and everything will fall in place. |
