Hi all, I have posted about this sort of thing as a general issue before, but this is pretty specific. I had met a girl a while back: I gave her just a bit of kino, flirtatiousness, didn't close (not a practical way to do it anyway) but things went well. Now that I'm going back to the area, I suggested getting some coffee, and she replied that we should get drinks. Problem being that I can't really drink due to acid reflux. So, where do I go from here? Sucking it up and drinking is a bad choice. The pain is worse than the pleasure I'd get from an optimistic outcome. Admitting that I have reflux off the bat looks pretty lame. Giving any other reason could come off pretty alienating (hardly mirroring values, there). Maybe I should just show up and get coffee myself, say I don't have the taste for alcohol? Thanks guys. |

I suggest you ignore wussy AFCs that try to brainwash you into drinking booze. I have bipolar disorder and take meds for it, thus I also avoid alcohol. You can go with her to get drinks and stick with soda/water/coffee there, or invite her to your favorite coffee shop and offer to pay for her coffee/tea. The latter will cost you like $4-5 for her coffee/tea. Do not let anybody force you to do drugs (i.e. booze) that cause you pain. That is my 2 cents of experience. Your health and happiness is worth way more than someone trying to get fucked up. |

.. then tell her you don't drink and go out and get a coffee or something. Number #1 rule. Don't change yourself for some chick.. be yourself, she will dig you more for it.. tell you you don't drink but you would love to take her out for a "water on the rocks".. |
