I've been hooking up with a girl from work. She mostly initiated the first time at a party, and we had good but not great sex. Asked for her number the next morning but our phones were dead and neither of us cared too much. Kept conversation light and mostly work-related the next few weeks and thought that might be the end of it, but then a few weeks later (the next time we were drunk together) we hooked up both Friday and Saturday with almost no effort on my part after different work-related events, had sex several times and it was really good. There aren't any excuses to hook up anytime soon, and she still hasn't given me her number, but I want to keep this going a while. Problem is, I don't know if it would be better to make an effort to see her again or just wait it out -- I don't want her to go cold thinking I'm not interested, but also don't want to scare her away by making her think I'm looking for something serious. She's not the typical girl who expects a phone call the next day, and since we work together I feel like conventional wisdom about contacting her doesn't apply. Any advice? |

Based on the info given, I don't see the issue here. It sounds like you are creating issues in your head...she hasn't said anything specific about wanting more right? If you want it to continue, continue what you are doing. She still hasn't given you a number, she isn't pushy about "where this is all going" or anything like that...whats not to like here? I'd say play it out until you actually hear something from her or really start sensing negative vibes. Who knows, she may enjoy this because its spontaneous and fun, not necessarily to date you long-term. What is your goal in all of this? Are you chasing? |

Thanks for the response. That's a good question, and I'm not sure where I want to take this yet -- at least keep a casual FWB relationship going for a while, anything more than that it's too early to tell. Though it would be nice to make it a little more frequent than just work events... My only concern is there might not be another opportunity for a good 4 weeks or more and in my past experiences that's an eternity for a new hookup. There's also the possibility that she expects me to make a move after our last encounter -- though I got only very little indication that might be the case. You're probably right I'm creating issues in my head and the best thing to do is almost certainly what you suggested. It's just the timing that concerns me. |

So you want to meet her more frequently. Be aware that what you want and what she wants may differ. I see dudes, very often, that jump the gun. And this is probably the biggest problem guys have: a lack of DELAYED GRATIFICATION. Sometimes you don't need to do anything. You know when you are fucking a girl and you like hanging out but you don't necessarily want to date? Women do this too. When the time comes, a decision will be made. Either she is going to break, or you are going to break. Either way, it likely won't just disappear. Something will happen. Worst case scenario, nothing happens, and u guys just go about your days and you come away with awesome free sex. Not too bad right? |

I'm just curious, what kind of job are you working? I was taught that if you don't give a shit about your job that you can feel free to "hook up" with co-workers. On the other hand, if you actually care about your job, it's best not to fuck around with co-workers as word gets around VERY quickly within a job hierarchy. This is just my experience though. |

I work at a normal office, my job is definitely important to me as it's my career but it's a really laid back social environment. Also we've been pretty discreet so for, I for one have not told a soul. Even so, it probably wouldn't affect my professional life much if anyone found out so I'm not worried. Thanks for the advice, I'm definitely going to just ride it out and see what happens -- anything else and I'd probably just fuck it up. If she enjoyed it, she'll be back
