I believe 3-4 days is a bit too long. 2 days is pretty a good number but there is no definite rule and it can vary according to the situation. There's a lot of articles on how to text on this forum and others... Have fun reading!

The very fact that your asking how long should you wait before texting her back to not appear needy is ironically very needy.

I see where you guys are coming from and appreciate the input. One of my main sticking points is worrying about looking needy/creepy here's a little background info into it. I went out with this girl we went to the movies then out to a bar/resteraunt good time I teased her we made out went well. The next day I texted her said hey what's up I had a goodtime last night just a regular follow up txt. Then before she answered I noticed she left her purse in my car so I txted her again about 2min just said hey you left your purse in my car do you want me to drop it off later. A cpl hours later she txts me and is like I got all 50 of texts what's your deal? I txt her back what? I texted you twice. She's like whatever drop it off I won't be home. I found out later she told her friends I texted her repeatedly and creeped her out. That kinda stuck with me since then I try my absolute best to not appear creepy/needy. Its just a sticking point that was just a bad experience because a follow up txt saying hey I had a good time last night then hey you left your purse in my car want me to drop it off later doesn't strike me as need/creepy. I shouldn't let that bad experience limit me like that though, but I was younger and a lot less experienced at the time. Hopefully you guys see what I am saying.

This little rule is bullshit and I'll tell you why.

The guys that invented this wait ex amount of time before calling or texting a girl back did it because they were " afraid " to appear "needy". But in all actuality, if you aren't needy and you have other options any girl you talk to will be able to feel and sense that in everything you say and do. I can tell a girl " I love her " on the first night because it really doesn't matter if she accepts it or not. I have plenty of other girls who already have and a load of other women scattered across NY who will if I give them the opportunity.


There is no designated time to wait before hitting up a girl, but it is important that you have a productive busy like that assures you won't be sitting around clicking away at your phone all day.

You're right and I agree with you totally. I have a lot of things on the go and a lot of other girls I can call/txt anytime whether its to hookup or go on a date with and she knows that. Thing is like I said in my above post worrying about looking needy is a sticking point with me even though I am not a needy person. I also think I have a bit of a distorted view on what makes someone appear needy.

You're talking to her now? You didn't do anything wrong with your previous text, and she verbally harassed your soul into pointless awkwardness with no fault. I would have told her that she can get her purse herself, it will be in my front yard waiting for her.

No no mate I am talking about 2 different girls the girl I was talking about in my 1st post is one I've just recently started talking to. The one your talking about is a dirty sl-t I went out with when I was 17 and inezperienced. I only posted that story as some background info as to why I have a sp about appearing needy. I have more self respect then to go out with her afyer she pulled a bitch fit like that.
