What should I start with: The Game or the Mystery Method?

I read an adaptation of the mystery method. What should I start with to keep understanding this world?

Thanks

The Game is very "main stream." And Mystery Method... I'm assuming you are talking about the Venusian Arts handbook? It's very tactical and laid out... It's pretty much a plug and play system. You just plug it into a social interaction and usually it works. However, it doesn't really teach you how to adapt to different situations other than what is discussed in the book..

Honestly man, if you want to learn by yourself... Read bits and pieces of it. Go out and try it. Keep track of what type of results you get. Then study a little bit more. Go out again. Try it. And just keep going and going. You can always be learning more. But if you try and learn everything at once... You are going to be paralyzed in field once you try and execute. Doing it the way I suggested is a great way to develop a system that works for you. Plus, memory is emotion state access dependent... Meaning that you can not truly understand something until you have infield experiences actually using what knowledge you have. So until you try it and use it, it will all be "cool concepts and theories that seem like they work." Learn them and apply them and see what works for you.

Mystery Method may not work for you.. Keep in mind, Mystery was (and still is honestly) one awkward fuckin dude... His system is very, very analytical and designed to be used by someone with a similar personality to his. Try it out and see what type of results you get is really the best advice I can give you as far as what you should read. Whatever you read will be completely useless unless you are motivated enough to try it though.

I'm not going to lie, The Game was a terrible book in my opinion. It's cool I guess if you're interested in sort of tricking or deceiving girls to sleep with you...usually once...then they regret it afterwards.

If you want to get good (as I do) just go into the field and start approaching. Watch youtube videos of pickups, my favorites are Sasha Daygame and the Natural Lifestyles (James Marshall, Liam McRae, John Cooper).

If you like reading about this stuff, please, do yourself a favor and get Models by Mark Manson. PEBBLE suggested it and I second that suggestion. Models is a fucking incredible book. It teaches you to be a genuine attractive man who can pull girls in any situation by being honest, which is also how Sasha and the Natural Lifestyles pick up chicks.

I wish you the best!

Thanks a lot, guys. These are the answers i needed, just more perspective.

Once I finish the Game(I'm enjoying it a lot so far) I'll go for Mark Manson's.

I appreciate your help.

I think the best to start with is go out and meet girls. Read the newbie challenge. Books while good, you won't use them, because when you are in front of the girl you will forget everything you've read.

I found the game to be a very good confidence booster. It's not a manual or "how to" book it's a state-of-mind adaptation. It lets you see what's possible and when you finish the book you come away with a new sense of confidence about what you can achieve. It's not about learning pickup, per se, it's a frame of mind change and I think if you're starting from the same place I was- shy, not at all confident, self loathing and totally unsure where to even begin getting better with girls it really is a game changer.

I don't like the tactical "if x do y" books. They're pointless to me, it's a mindset thing. It's about confidence. All those tactical books do is make you more confident about what to do next, which is fine, but there are other ways to improve your confidence that aren't so situational and doesn't require so much studying.

What ways would you recomend?

Actually, I intend to read this kind of books with the goal of achieving the necessary mindset and confidence I need to be a better me.

I am now with an amazing girlfriend, but to compete with the parade of guys, likely PUAs included, that might be hitting on her, I must be at their level and know how to face their attempts. But also is important to keep fighting for what you want in order not to lose it, so I want to keep seducing her no matter how long we are together, thats why I wont use those "how to" books, but the ones that turn me into a beter man.

I found interesting a review of Models by Mark Manson, (recomended in this topic), but I would like to learn from as many poliyalent sources as possible.

Thanks for all.

PS: If my english is far from perfect I apologize, but Im trying hard.
