I know the term nlp doesn't stand for non-linear progression but I can't for the life of me remember what it actually means.

Non-linear progression is when you take the average steps of pick up and jumble them to make the perfect scenario rather than having a blatant pattern which leads to a more natural conversation and quicker signal notification.

Please tell me what it actually means and if non-linear progression sounds useful.

It stands for Neuro-Linguistic Programing. It's all about using speech patterns and imbedded commands to make a girl horny / compliant. It used to be a very mainstream pick-up technique that isn't talked about all that much anymore.

It's something that you shouldn't waste your time on. It may work...kind of...I wouldn't know, as I haven't tried it, and won't. You're better off learning to be an actual man than trying to trick or hypnotize girls to sleep with you. Not saying you are, just warning you that it's not a good route.

That's what I thought. My problem now is that My version isn't a hypnosis trick it's a genuine interest making a conversation less scripted, or "Non-Linear". i'm not trying to just go for it. I want numbers not just to brag, but also to keep my interests new and refreshed.

There's a lot of misconception about NLP, it's not just using embedded commands; it's using a wide bredth of techniques that involve language in all of its forms to modify the emotional states of yourself and those around you. Actual NLP (aka not just 'say these magic words and somehow she will lay you,' i mean an actual understanding of the techniques and theory behind NLP) is very powerful, and absolutely worth study.

These guys above are right! Nothing else to add but an example:
You shouldn't say this:
- Would you give me your number?

Instead say:
- You are cool but i have to go, but before that, give me your number and i'll text you latter

You are cool - works as an excuse like: "I just want your number because you are cool"
but i have to go - triggers the idea of: Oh don't go now, i'm cool you said! (also reinforce the excuse)
but before that - It says, "i have something to ask you, pay attention"
give me your number - Command: what you really want to achieve
and i'll text you latter - It prepares her to receive a text from you.

Also when you ask something and after you say:
"Is it ok to you?" you are basely saying to the person to accept it!

Or when you instead of: Would you help me on my homework say help me on my homework
You are not asking so you are not making able to the other person to say no.

How can you say its not a good method if you don't know weather or not it works and have never even tried it? What about learning it to better yourself, create connections with people, and give girls good feelings about themselves and you? Don't knock it until you try it.

NLP is pseudoscience marketed as being the holy grail of sales, pickup, and self therapy.

Its mostly nonsense.
