Hi, I find myself involuntarily acting different in front of girls such as: I will be quieter than usual, my mind will often go blank when trying to keep the conversation going and when I finally think of something to say its real bland and uninteresting. How can I be my natural personality when interacting with girls? |

Practice. Keep talking to them. Make goals, such as: -talk to 5 girls and make sure I speak clearly -learn to recognize branching off points in sentences that you can use to keep the conversation going, like: girl: "I graduated from Harvard. I got a degree in chemistry." Harvard and chemistry are two topics you can use to branch off. you: "Oh, my friend went to Harvard also! He told me that this one time ..." you: "Oh, is chemistry your passion? I'm more of a physics person myself." |

He told me that this one time ..." you: "Oh, is chemistry your passion? I'm more of a physics person myself." This exactly. This is called threading conversation. It keeps the interaction interesting. This way, you don't continue on about the same topic... Like the guy who tries pathetically to hold a conversation with a girl walking her dog through the park... "I like your dog." "What kind is he?" "Where did you get him?" "Ohh.. where do you get him groomed" ALL this guy talks about is the dog. Don't do that. It makes it seem like you are trying to drag out the conversation. Another thing I will point out to you from the example that Positron gave you is to notice how he mixed questions with statements. This also keeps the interaction interesting and will also keep both parties engaged in the conversation. Also, notice how every statement you make or question you ask from the examples above relates back to yourself? This will allow her to feel that YOU are interesting vs you are a guy who just tells interesting stories. She will want to get to know you. |
