A long time buddy of mine recently started dating this girl I've known for a while. I never hung out with her, I really just knew her from school. Apparently she thinks I'm really cute, she always compliments me, tells me I'm attractive, and is always smiling and laughing around me. (Not always the case for her boyfriend.) I've had at least 5-10 people tell me she likes me. She's really attractive and sweet but this is my buddy since middle schools girlfriend. Any of you guys been in this situation? If she was single I'd probably go for her but I'm not willing to lose a good friend.

Tell your buddy about all the people who have told you she likes you. Could just be her pretending to like you, then if you act upon it, she will tell your buddy and make him cut you out of his life cos she wants him to stop spending time with you and more time with her.

The only time I'd say go for it is if you really don't like your buddy anymore and you were looking for a reason to ditch him anyway. Even then, you won't get a good rep for betraying your buddy. Basically, DONT EVEN GO THURRR GURLFRIEND!!!! ***finger circles***

If my girl was all over my best buddy and telling people that she liked him behind my back, I would be pissed off if my buddy didn't tell me about it.

So you need to justify what was so dumb about my advice. In your other post you agreed with half of what I said anyway and said the same thing using different words.

Be a good friend and let it go. Ignore it. Atleast tell your friend how the situation is, no man deserves a GF who intends to cheat. Or just forget the situation go find a new girl. There are plenty for all. Good luck.

classic story as old as time. happens a billion different ways. I will tell you that MOST of the time. the guy who asks this question goes after the girl anyways. what happens is that you loose your friend even though he says its fine and in the end your friendship with the guy is never the same as it used to be. This girl that you were so curious about going after. well she doesn't last and moves on to someone else leaving this huge gap between you and your friend. leaving both your friend and you with guilt of regret. She will be happy. the two of you will not be again

And even if they break up, DO NOT get involved with her without his explicit permission, and by "involved" I mean sex, not a serious relationship. I have had friends ask me to sleep with their ex and then dump her (I didn't go that far, but it wouldn't necessarily break you two if you slept with her, with his permission, after they break up). It's the "bro code", and true friends stand by each other. You were friends long before this girl came, and if you don't fuck this up, you'll be friends long after she leaves. Don't put random women above your friends. If she's obviously flirting with you, as hunter foxe said, you need to let your friend know about this, so he has all the information he needs in making his decisions about this girl. Obviously, she's not the most loyal one in the bunch.

Thanks everyone for the input. And no I didn't plan on going for her anyways I just wanted others input on the situation. She's not like all over me its just known that she likes me.people have told me she liked me before they even started dating.

I party with this guy from my class.. His girlfriend keeps complimenting me, giving me heavy IOIs and touches me often when her boyfriend is not around. One time, she told me I can tell so much about a person from their eyes, bla bla.. She was eye fucking me and i was doing the same back to her.. Apart from that i didn't show any interest in her and was nonreactive to all her IOIs.. Anyways, she can still bring you charm for girls.. Every time i partied or went to pubs with those people i got lots of attraction from girls around us.. Basically, use her to get you pre-selection from other HBS around..
