I get this a lot, as i look young :? . Girls ask me how old I am, and when I tell them they say "you look so young!". For 23 year old man, this is not a good thing.

I started joking around when girls ask me how old I am by saying "I'm 12" which usually gets a laugh, but eventually I have to answer the questions and I inevitably get that response. What would you say in this situation?

Should I compensate by throwing in "adult" situations in the conversations (sex, taxes, jobs, etc.)?

I don't really like the idea of talking about "adult" topics for the sole purpose of making yourself appear older.

I can't really think of anything particularly witty to say in response, so maybe try something like "Thanks, hopefully it'll last" then change the subject.

Also, try growing some facial hair. Either a goatee or beard will make you look significantly more mature.

Respond to it as if it were a compliment.
Also, can you do anything about it? Grow a beard, get a different haircut, change clothing styles?

Whatever you do DO NOT let it show that it affects you. Personally I'd give a fake smirk and change the topic. Not even acknowledge it.

I'd just mention how well you'll be aging in a joking manner, as a response.
