| Post subject: | Another college class question |
Yeah, there's a few college threads on here, but each one is specific to the thread maker. Here's the situation, there's this girl in my class I'm interested in. It's a night class and everyone seems to be more relaxed in it, but she seems a bit closed (pretty quiet for whatever reason, could be LSE, but can't tell). The class has met I think 4 times and the first two classes, I pretty much established myself as the guy that knows everyone in the class (class size is about 25-30). No other AMOG aside from some guys that answer questions, but no other DHV. I had 5 friends in the class and 2 other people that I'm acquainted with and I've used those people to meet others. She's seen me get to know other people and interact with others. The thing is, I never really get a chance to make eye contact with her except for the first couple of classes where she made eye contact and smiled. I held eye contact, smiled back, but didn't say anything and went to sit back down (I sit behind her). I've talked to her a couple of times, but only about class stuff. Now when I walk into class, she's usually there, but she won't look up. Did I not show enough interest initially and lost her or what? Are there any suggestions you guys have for starting up a conversation with limited amount of time? Or should I just forget about this one since I made the mistake of not talking to her from the start. Anyway, sorry for the long post, but I'm new to the community and I'm pretty inexperienced so I wanted to be quick, but detailed with the post. |

Why she seems closed off: 1) She has a boyfriend and is quite satisfied 2) She is just not looking for a hook-up 3) She is shy 4) She is just a type of person who never shows any enthusiasm or liveliness. - This is probably true. Below is everything IMHO This is definitely not a lost case. But, i usually hook up with girls that like me mutually so i really do not have to do a lot of work. I think during your interactions with other people in class - she could see through your personality and was not interested. But I think you are cool. Since she does not seem to be very socil with you. Of course you have to initiate. Talk to her, go direct/flirty. Tell her she is cute or whatever you feel like. Look at her reaction. Honestly man, this does not sound like a very interesting girl. ( i might be wrong, i have not seen her) Do you like her personality, or you like her looks? Does this girl excite you? Is she just a piece of meat to you? If you really like her, then definitely go and talk her up. Show interest, forget about value crap - you already have value, believe it, and people will sense it. No need to tell. Do not take it to seriously. Just get to know her, offer to get a coffee or whatever. Explore her personality and see if you like it. |

If what you're saying about being the classroom AMOG is true, open with something along the lines of, "Hey, how is it that I know everyone else BUT you? Are you anti-social, or just boring?" Then she will either ignore you (not worth it), or she will prove herself to you. |

Firebird has some good advice, and I may add that don't overthink approaching her, just do it and don't let the outcome stop you. |

Alright, I approached her in class today and we got to talking. I didn't do anything canned and just talked to her, but avoided all the boring questions like "how are classes," "where are you from," etc. Didn't have much time before class though so it was short. I sit behind her in class and I was wondering what IOIs I should be looking for. I noticed a couple that could be IOIs, but I'm completely new to this so I don't really know if they're legit. The first was when I was talking to someone else about something and she immediately turns around and comments on the subject. The second being her always leaning back and playing with her hair. The second one is what I'm most unsure of. I only thought it was an IOI because I read somewhere about a girl playing with her hair and showing her neck to be a sign of interest. I'm not sure if it counts if I'm just sitting behind her though since she's not even facing me when she does this. Anyway, I'll try to number close next time, but let me know what IOIs I should be watching for in class. Thanks for the advice by the way and I know I sound like a chump, but I'm slowly learning. |
