Post subject:  What does this chick want from me?

So, I met this girl at a concert a few months ago. We’re both huge, die-hard, hardcore fans of a certain band, and she was standing behind me and my friend (she came to the show alone), and we started chatting it up a little. Well, I got her number, she added me on facebook, and we’ve kept in touch on fb chat and texting for the last couple of months.

I’d say for the first couple of weeks we didn’t talk much, just once or twice a week and it was generally just sharing some songs/info on the band we like.

But recently, we’ve been talking a little more. I guess I should preface by saying that she lives a few hours away from me, but in this little town, these chicks do nothing for me. I prefer more Latinas and Asians and they are simply not prevalent where I live.

One day she saw a facebook post that I made, and based upon two songs I mentioned in the post, she asked me if I was ok. She seemed really concerned, and sent me a really sweet message. I told her what was up, and that was that. Ever since then, she’s been initiating a lot. I almost never text her first. But it’s so strange. She will text me, and I’ll reply, but then it’s as if she has nothing left to say? So then I’ll try to keep conversation going a bit, but I’m not sure if this is what I should be doing.

I want to talk to her, and I love how she’s always texting me and telling me that she’ll be in touch tomorrow, uses a lot of smileys and etc (and she always does end up messaging me), but I don’t quite understand why she texts me something random, and after we reply 2-3 times, she just stops saying anything, almost like ignoring the last things I said. I’ve never called her out on it, or asked her why, but one time I texted her a direct question about something and a few hours later she sent me a text saying (I’m so sorry. I want you to know that I’m not ignoring you. Just got a little busy). But I know she’s not always busy when that happens, and it happens more often that i would like. Sometimes tho we'll text for hours almost nonstop.

. A few days ago she actually gave me a phone call and we talked for 20 minutes. She told me that I should come visit her sometime. I told her that I would like to do that, and we’ll make it happen in the near future. We talked about doing some bar hopping around he apartment. What does that even mean?
Finally, some friends and I are going on a weekend trip in a few weeks. I told her about it and said she could come if she wanted, and she got really excited. She’s supposed to let me know in a few days if she’s coming or not after she figures out her finances ( I told her it was no rush as it had already been paid for, but that we had more than enough room if she wanted to pitch in and join), but there was no doubt by the sound of her voice that she wants to come.

I just can’t figure out what this is. Is she just being friendly? What does she want? You guys have any ideas? I really don’t want to be in friendzone with her, but I might be there already? Thanks for your advice!

She is interested. You're over analyzing this. She wants to go out any time you talk about it and is returning your texts. Sounds pretty good to me. Now you just need to get her out and escalate correctly.

Thanks for the reply, Maven.

I definitely over analyze everything. It's a terrible crutch of mine, and I feel like I just need to go for it.

I'm not sure how to 'escalate,' but I'm going to give it my all. I'll keep reading the forum and maybe I can figure this out. I just do not want to get friend-zoned again. I'd rather not even be friends at all.
