Post subject:  Newbie question on how long to ignore her for.

I met her when she was at a mutual friend's house and I convince her to hang out with me a few days later. Which we do. As we part ways we agree to meet up in a few days. In the interim we text a few times. The day before we are to meet up she texts saying she may need to cancel for work. I play it cool and say no worries we can always reschedule. She agrees.

I tried to to reschedule a few time but she always had lame excuses (e.g. hanging out with her sister etc). I have not reached out for almost 2 weeks. No contact whatsoever. Do I give up on this one, or should I send her a random text now? If so what should I say?

I think this one's gone cold. You could continue texting for experimental purposes, but I wouldn't expect anything out of this girl. With all of that in mind, you have nothing to lose by sending her a stupid text message. Why not push the envelope!

I just went through the same thing. Agreed on nothing to lose. Unless it would make things awkward with mutual friend.

Thanks guys, Sort of figured, but always nice to hear to from another party.

Any suggestions on how to re-break the ice (for experimental reasons)?

You: "Hey."

Her: "Yeah?"

You: "Come to the (insert local bar)."

Her: "I'm actually, uh... (insert half-assed excuse)."

You: "LAME. And all this time I thought you were so cool. Haha"

I mean, the pieces are there. It could work or it could backfire, but that's what I'd do. It could rile her up a bit, or it could just cause her to ignore you. Since she's already ignoring you, that'd be no great loss. If you have any ideas, though, or if you get some better suggestions, I'd consider those over this. Re-breaking the ice sucks.
