No I'm not dating someone with a dick, haha. But I am dating someone with depression! So now that I got your attention.. here's my prob:

I never much cared about the outcome of things. But for a loving girlfriend (HB 7) I've been with for a year, who's 19, has depression, whos friends love me, and who is heavily emotionally invested in me, I would like to have a swift, almost painless break up if possible. We have no problems; the relationships been great! I just feel like she isn't the one, and that breaking up with her, like I would with "any other girl", isn't a genus idea... might lead to more scars on her writs or worse :( .. so yea, can you guys help me on giving me advice on how to go about this?

Hey man . Just sit her down in a private place where she can cry if needed and don't pull any time constraints. These are the 2 most annoying things possible.

Stay by her side as long as she needs , listen to her , hold her if she cries but stay strong to your resolve. Tell her that she's great,has a lot to offer,will find someone cool...all that. But that you want something different and have made up your mind.

It's not gonna be swift nor painless , but it will be what you need to do if you want to not brake her.

Oh and , make it CRISTAL clear that from that conversation forward , there will be NO contact between the 2 of you. Absolutely no contact for at least 1-2 months. Any further form of communication will only hurt her.A lot.

Do not under any circumstances 'remain friends'. She and probably you too need about 1-2 months to get over each other. Only then can you be friends.

This defintely remember no contact i've been drawn back into some relationships after I've broken up with them because we talked to soon then she thinks we're back together :shock:
