I have no problem seeing a girl and approaching her usually just buy her a drink + get her number hopefully or either if im drunk enough il chat away to her about anything at all! But the next day knowing absolutely nothing about the girl after about 3days of talking crap i run out of stuff to talk about by this stage i've usually asked her to do something next weekend and spend the rest of the week texting her in the morning saying something lik working today which i no she is anyway and then the conversation dies again. it doesn't happen all the time usually ya get something in common r something you no a little about but i've noticed its happening more often now anyone got any tips when the conversation dies what to do... |

"Before you lead, you must learn to follow." This one is easy to answer, but a little difficult to understand and apply so bear with me. My first impression based on your comment is that you like to dominate social interactions. Whether you're buying her a drink, getting her number, talking to her at the bar, txting her about work, making plans for next week, etc. its all being driven by you. There is nothing wrong with that, but here's my thoughts on the matter. If you drive the whole time, sooner or later you'll run into the exact problem that you've run into probably more than once. The answer: take turns. Once you have established dominance over a social interaction, create a frame that allows her to be in the spotlight. This not only makes your approach less intimidating and overbearing, but it also arms you with useful information that you can use in the future. Plus, once you've established a pattern of taking turns being in the spotlight, you can switch back and forth at will and virtually NEVER run out of something to say again. Hope this helps |
