So there are a number of girls that I get into conversation with in text/in person and it goes quite well with them. The girl is asking questions and showing IOI's but when the time comes to pull the trigger and ask for a date/number, they make some excuse or dont respond on text.

I know alot of you would say at this point to move on and I normally do, but I am learning more and more that there are lots of reasons a girl may not respond to the number/date bit and its worth asking.

For example, I was speaking to a girl on facebook. Just a random I messaged. We struck up so good banter and conversation and I eventually asked her to swap numbers and arrange a drink. I got no response at all which seemed strange. So after 3-4 weeks, I saw her face in my inbox again and decided to message her.

me: I didnt realise you were shy? ;) let me know if you fancy chatting on SPAM
her: I am shy X
me: or uninterested x
her: that's a bit harsh, I prefer shy ! x
me: You are gorgeous, you dont need to be shy. Even if I am a bit on the sexy side
her: That is so funny, you do make me laugh!
me: Why not have a chat on SPAM?
her: my SPAM are around.. long story
me: chat on phone?
her: Sure. Evenings are better
me: number is XXXXXXXXXXX

So this convo is today and im fairly confident she will call.

So what I am asking is do you think it is worth asking a girl outright what the problem when she stalls or doesnt respond as opposed to just moving on straight away i.e ..?. and if so how would you do it?

Obviously it's not ok. The most common problem is that people are insecure. About everything and anything.

You can be perfect and a girl will still turn you down because she might not be up to whatever it is you're propossing.

Plus...like I said, ppl are insecure. If you start thinking that everytime you get turned down it's your fault you're on your way to a very unhealthy thinking pattern.
