How to deal with people spreading rumours about you

Post subject:  How to deal with people spreading rumours about you
Okay i am concerned that i am having a couple of cock blocks in action, one is primarily a girl who wants to make me jealous and go mad for her, and the other one is a friend i believe even though he is acting benevolently. How is the best way to counteract rumours whatever they may be or just general people trying to tarnish your name and reputation, is there a general answer that can be given, rather than laugh it off or confront the people ?

Act like it doesn't bother you and when someone questions you about it give them the sarcastic yep thats me...

There are several ways to tackle this problem. The most effective, but also the most difficult to pull off is the mirror technique. You ruin them as much as they are ruining you. When they realize who their dealing with, they'll be afraid and stop. Just remember though that this requires you to be vigilant, merciless, and CLEVER!

A more practical way of doing things is to leave the place and start life anew.

A third way to do it is to murder these people before they spread the rumours. But I do not recommend it.

Haha thanks for the advice, I'm not too sure whether to destroy them or not, the girl is very spiteful and really has it out for me, despite supposedly being a friend, I'm just going to reply "yes the rumours are true" to be honest i have an extremely large base of friends and people, this is like a drop in the ocean.

Well there you go! lol. If you have such a large base of friends (good for you!), then having a viral effect on your reputation by a little bit shouldn't be much of a problem. Ignore it. Don't even PRETEND that it doesn't bother you because believe me, it will (and pretending will only make you look lame).

The expression "haters gonna' hate" holds true here. You just have to accept that people will talk shit about you and learn to live your life uneffected by it. I realize it does effect you, often times indirectly, but you need to learn how to deal with it and overcome.

I susppose the other obvious answer would be to confront the person and tell them to stop.
