I just read this article. This part caught my attention:

"The victim said she started to kiss him and that he initially pushed her off. She then tried to kiss him again and he kissed her back before they had sex."

This 12 year old wasn't 'raped', she consented to sex. In today's society it's feasible for a 12 year old to look older than 12, understand what sex is and be interested in it. There is no evidence that this girl suffered any psychological trauma as a result of having sex.

Was this a victimless crime? Should this man have gone to jail?

Well erm, maybe you should have a serious think to yourself about 'what is right and wrong' about having sex with a 12 year old child...

But 25s on 12s is fucked up in every single fucking aspect.

Ages of consent are arbitrary, they are not based on any evidence. That's why they are different all over the world. I'm sure many teenagers are vulnerable and need protection, however many are more mature than average and exceptions should be made if they have sex.

Why are you even questioning it? its morally wrong, not because society says so but because a girls sexuality has not developed at that age, she is in human form, a child, not a sexual being. No matter how you try and find reasons to justify it, it is wrong to take up her advances. There is nothing sexually attractive about a 12 year old girl to a normal adult.

Besides you can't blame a persons sexual interest in something young. (pedophile) Its something they are born with just like homosexuals.

Are you trying to justify your sick notions so you'd feel less guilty? Sex with a 12 year old is OUT OF QUESTION AND EVERY SINGLE DECENT FUCKING PERSON knows this. So if you wanna have sex with a 12 year old, and you're also 12 years old, well then I can't really blame you but you still shouldn't do it. We're not talking about "She told me she was 18" here, you can tell a 12 year old. And if you're a 25 year old guy being attracted by a 12 year old, then you're just a miserable old fuck who should be shot in the dick. Now I like to keep my mind open on controversial debates. Use of drugs, government policies, conspiracies and all that shit. But when it comes to fucking 12 year olds that's where I draw the fucking line. If you're an 18 year old high school kid, and you're having sex with a 17 year old, I don't think that's any of the governments business. I think as long as the kids are of the same age and both consenting, I don't know what the big deal is, except for teenage pregnancy, so do wear a condom. But 25s on 12s is fucked up in every single fucking aspect. So please do everyone a favor, go surrender to the fucking cops if you EVEN think this might be slightly OK in some small way. It's not. Just because she kissed him doesnt mean it's consentual. Easy to demonstrate, here's my example: How would you feel if I was your friend, called you one day and thanked you for introducing me to your 12 year old sister. You ask me "Why you thank me man?" and I go like "Dude she gives hell of a head!". And then you go like "Dude she's 12 wtf I'm gonna have to kill you" and shit, and I go like "Relax man she went for it first I didn't force her or anything". Doesn't feel good does it? First thing that would pop in your mind would be "I wonder what that son of a bitch told my sis to convince her this is normal". Well I told her that her brother is a pedo and this is what you do all the time.

Because a 12-year old's frontal lobe is no where near developed to make rational decisions and most decisions come from higher activity in the amygdala, which is also true for non-human animals. This means that her decision came from mainly emotion and instinctual desires. Which makes her decision making process the same as that of a dog's. Don't want to compare a 12-year old girl to a dog, but if you think a dog has enough power to consent to sex with a completely developed, rational human being, then you can make your own decision. Take into account how a dog initiates mating as well.

You know its happened throughout history and its going to keep happening. The world is filled with billions of different personalities and circumstances. Staying out of the debate about whether underage sex is right or wrong, if you read the whole article you'd see he's clearly guilty of the crime. Even when he found out she was 12, he stuck around. He's also the one who travelled to go meet her. And finally, unless she stands at 5'6" with a pair of 36Cs with no braces in her teeth, then I'm sure it would have dawned upon him to question her age.

I have no problem with the point that their is 13 years between them but i do think that it is very wrong to have sex with something that is so young and far from being full grown. If she was in her 20s and he in is 30 i had no problem with it. Besides you can't blame a persons sexual interest in something young. (pedophile) Its something they are born with just like homosexuals. Their is nothing wrong aslong they don't molest the young children.

I would imagine being 12 and in the hands of an adult making sexual advances on you, you may consent purely through fear or through thinking it must be okay if an adult is doing it or for any other skewed reasoning. A 12 year old is not fit to make decisions of such magnitude.
